Did you search for her on Zabasearch.com?
Her phone and address will probably be listed.
Also look for her on WhitePages.com

Since social security records are closed and private records, the SSN is useless because there is no index to cross reference with. If you are looking for your sons mother you are going to have to look for her with other information like her name, location, age assuming she hasn't married and changed her name. If she has been keeping you from your son you can get an attorney and fight for visitation.

I don't know what your situation is and whether or not you are paying child support, but if you are current on your payments you have a strong case against her. I also know that there are cases where a woman doesn't put the real fathers name on the birth certificate. If this is the case, I would strongly suggest taking her to court and making her bring the baby in for a paternity test. If you are the baby's father, you do have legal rights and I suggest you exercise them while the child is as young as possible. There is a group called the Fathers Rights Foundation who have a webpage at
http://www.fathers-rights.com/
The page seems really informative and has lots of information. I hope this helps and if you want to E-mail me privately with her name, last known location, and approximate age or birthdate I will check the databases I have and see if I can help you locate her. Good luck and blessings to you in your search.

This is not genealogy, the research and documentation of your dead ancestors. That said -

You don't. You have no right. By the way - is your child support payment currently paid up?

You should be able to file a Missing Person report from the town police or County Sheriff Dept where the child disappeared. Work your way up the chain of command if necessary. If they're still lazy mention State Police and State Attorney General - sometimes that alters Attitude. Don't threaten anything that you cannot and will not carry through with.

However - local authorities do not have power either to access federal social security files. I doubt States do, either! That takes federal intervention. FBI can/will get involved IF and only IF there is for instance some sort of reasonable proof the child was taken beyond a State line AND a court order with some level of joint custody of the child.

Social security numbers are supposed to be absolutely confidential, since they are a key factor in identity theft (among other reasons). So, don't look to use that to search for person who is living.. it would be illegal.
Addressing the other part of your situation... In Texas, if a MARRIED person with undisputed custody rights, runs with a child, there is no "crime" as long as it happens before a court case is filed (divorce or custody). Never mind that it clearly violates the custody rights of the left behind parent. Other states say it is parental abduction, court order or not.
If you then try to apply any sense at all to that, you can imagine the disputes regarding children when there is no marriage, and without a court ruling, no one is certain what rights the father may have (or if he actually IS the father.. no offense meant to you). If there was no custody hearing of any kind... then certainly law enforcement has nothing to enforce, since nothing was legally violated.
You need to THOROUGHLY educate yourself on what your state specifies, in regards to rights of unmarried parents, assuming that is accurate. Some mothers "run" for spiteful reasons (to deny a father access), while others have a legitimate reason to fear for their safety or the childs. And this is NOT limited to the mothers.. I personally have knowledge of a dad who ran with his kids, with no legal grounds.

You can find them on the Social Security Death Index, however, this only applies to deceased people. I would think there isn't any way to track a living person with a social security number unless you work for the SSI, the police, or the IRS...

I almost know exactly how you feel. I am searching for my daughter.

E-mail me and I'll see if I can find something, but I just did one search for someone and only got old info; but I can try.
