I have a sketchbook that I use for drawing on the go, and I've tried using many various types and brands, but I run into the same problem: When I close the book, the image gets quickly smeared into the back of the paper preceding it. It's the worst when I have any kind of hatch marks, of course, but the more detailed I make a sketch, usually the more distorted it will become.

Now I'm not trying to preserve these drawings per se, but it makes it difficult to work with if I try to use the sketches as a reference. I'm not really interested in buying another sketchbook, but does anyone know any way to deal with this? Perhaps I should use a different pencil (I'm using a 2h mechanical) or find some way to remove excess graphite?

There is a rumor going around in my extended family that my great grandfather was Cherokee. So I decided to get onto the free trial with ancestry.com and see if I could find some info about him. I know that he was born in 1860 and died in 1926. He is frequently listed as "mulatto" on cencus reports. His wife's name was "India" and lot of my aunts and uncles refer to her as "Indy".
But they both seem to fall out of the sky into the 1870 census report. They were listed as living in north eastern North Carolina. If he was Cherokee, wasn't he far away from his homelands? All the Cherokee I see listed were from western NC and Tenesee and Oklahoma. I found info that stated that he could have been adopted and his name could have changed, and so forth. How would I go about finding out another name to look him up? And how would I go about finding out India's maiden name?

I am so stuck!

So i'm a materialist, I like to buy things. But, i'm quite poor right now.

I was wondering what your take is on living minimal. I'm in college with no honest expenses that arn't covered by loans. Houseing cost, utilities ect are all covered. The only things I have to worry about is fuel costs and food, yet I still manage to blow $100 a week on unaccountable things.

So, how do you do things without spending money? Bars are expensive...
I suppose, its quite easy to live cheaply but more so i'm asking how do you mentally do it.

How do you eliminate the desire to be materialistic?

I've seen people's profiles that have two pictures, one under the other, and to me it seems that in order to get the second picture you need to add it to the caption box. Can anyone tell me how to do it, and which code or link to use.

In early evolution periods, whoever thought to put something in their mouth when they were hungry? How? Who thought to drink water? How did people ever come to think of doing that?

I know people who fall into both categories and I can't figure out which is more upsetting to me. I'm leaning towards the first, though.

What more can I bear,
I struggle with life day by day,
Wondering how all this ever began,
Wondering when all this pain will ever end.

Tears stream from my eyes,
Like the river flows through the valley,
My heart aches,
It feels like swords are being pierced into me,
I feel so frightened and so helpless,
I can’t defend myself,
And trying is useless.

Sometimes death flashes before me,
But I remember my pride and joy that I live for,
My son,
And now I have another reason to continue with life,
I have your love.

From the first moment we spoke,
It felt right
And each day after we cared more for each other,
And now our love is unbreakable,
It is as strong as the roots of an oak tree,
Buried so deep and travels so far into the ground.

I want to give my all to you,
And be forever true to you,
This hurt I feel now,
Will be happiness with you,
But patient I will remain until I have you in my arms,
And never let you go,
As long as you want the same.

That Damn Cold Pillow by Tiffany Bryant

Here I am again.

Another email I know will go unread and unanswered.

Yet I still sit here and type as if you will read this and think of me.

I had such a bad day today and needed to talk to someone.

I found myself thinking of only you.

Hair the color of the morning sun and eyes I so easily get lost in.

Memories of how easily you make me smile flood my thoughts,

bringing back that smile only you can make, onto my lips.

Lips longing to feel the soft warmth of yours.

I dreamt about you last night.

And wokeup happier than I've been in months.

We were wrapped around each other, our legs intertwined.

You swept back my hair and told me how beautiful I was.

Took a trip through each others eyes so long Im sure I saw your soul.

Longing for mine like a lost child for it's mother.

I gave in easily and found my way in, never looking back but to

say goodbye to an emptiness I never realized was there until you.

My head on your bare chest felt so natural, fit so perfectly.

Your lips on mine like it's the only thing they were ever meant for.

I woke up to a cold pillow and a tear on my cheek.

I could still feel your skin on mine.

Your breath down my neck.

The way your hands felt on my breasts.

Heartbroken it wasnt real.

My head back on the pillow.

My fingers running across my lips trying to hold onto the last bit of you

before it crept away with the early morning dew.

I'm taking a photography course and would like a nice camera with good zoom, clarity and fairly simple to use. (On the video they showed a camera that had color cordinated lines, so you knew where to turn the lense) I'd like to keep it under $1,000.

i'm looking for a sad song for a lyrical dance. i really... want to move the audience to tears if possible. i know the song is only half the battle, but i definitely have the passion to put into the dance right now... i just need a song. preferably something most people can relate to. if not that, then just something that really gets you. thank you.
