Here's a quick overview of what happened under FDR's famous "Hundred Days Congress" (This is not to say that every plan was a good one, or accomplished its objective(s), but that's a separate discussion):
1) Passing existing legislation (FDR adopted as his own)
a) favorite projects of congressmen, e.g., the Ohio River Authority plan of Senator George Norris,
b) various plans HOOVER had attempted to implement but could not get through Congress (for those who think Hoover wasn't doing anything!) such as the emergency banking laws
NOTE: the Hoover plans (whether adopted as his or modified) are included in the following list
2) BANKING
a) "Bank Holiday" - kept banks closed until new legislation was passed
b) Emergency Banking Act (March 9), etc -- sound banks reopened under Treasury supervision, many smaller banks merged into larger ones, creation of Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
c) Executive Order 6102 requiring that by the next January all private gold be turned in for paper money at face value (as per the March 9 law)
3) The Economy Act (March 20)
proposed to balance the "regular" (non-emergency) federal budget
4) Farm Programs
Agricultural Adjustment Act, creating the Agricultural Adjustment Administration (AAA)
-provided for crop reductions & subsidies
(followed by many more programs for poor farmers, esp. in the South)
5) Relief measures & welfare agencies, creating (government) jobs
Many of these over the years... the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) --also related to farmers-- began in 1933
6) Repealed prohibition
That is, while the 21st amendment to repeal the constitutional provision was being processed, Roosevelt supported and signed an interim measure -- a bill to legalize the manufacture and sale of beer

FDR was president for almost 16 years, that's alot more than 100 days.
But he did accomplish undermining the legitimacy of the Supreme Court and I've hated him for it ever since.

NO improvement. He will fail and go down in history as a Jimmy Carter. We are in a recession, no different then any other recession we have been in and no one can force it to end early. Especially by thinking we can spend our way out of it and cause more of a tax burden. Obama will be a failure and Bush will be hailed the great leader that he was. What will be different is all the NEW FAKE Buzz words Obama and his team have created to Fool Americans who don't know any better - his voter base.
