President William McKinley's proposal to annex the Philippines sparked a
tremendous controversy. What were the main arguments for and against
annexation? Why did the imperialists win the debate about the fate of the
Philippines?

I just read pride and prejudice and reeeeally liked it. But I have a question - I thought that Mr. Darcy was the "pride" and Lizzy was the "prejudice" but I read somewhere that it was the other way around. can somebody please tell me which one is right and explain???

...because the settlement of America by Europeans and eventually others was necessary and fair. The "Natives" attacked and killed many settlers who had committed no aggression. To prevent further murders, early settlers began to battle the hostile "Natives". And the "Natives" murdered in revenge. And so on it went.

Peace could only be achieved by destroying the hostile elements completely.

All those deaths could have been prevented if the "Natives" had been more unselfish, friendly, and reasonable, rather than killing newcomers just because they didn't like them.

I want your honest opinion on why you think we are here, think about how the most miniscule thing affects everything around us (butterfly effect). Is everything fate? Do things happen for a reason? What happens when we die? WHY?

As I touch thy soft tender lips,
I feel as soft roses,
have laid up my lips.

When you embrance me,
in thy( or thine, not sure)
I feel warm,
In my heart, I feel secure.

When I look into thy deep,
blue,
eyes I feel as if I am in an ocean,
of thy deep love.

People tend to glorify FDR as some sort of saint- I think after WW2 he was elivated to god stauts- The reality is he was a quasi dictator who nearlly destoyed America. Pres. Hoover was not to blame for the depression- FDR was, and the fact none of FDR's policies could help eliviate the depression in th mid to late 30s was proof of his ineptitude. His social security program was federal welfare- proof of his socialist leanings.
FDR vowed neutrality, yet waged in a global war on 2 fronts. War with Japan was justified as they attcked us, but clearly negotiatons with Hitler could have defused the need for war with Germany. Rooselvelt ordered the arrest of jouralists who questioned his policies, proof her was a fascist. His internment of the japanese Americans was a horrible decision- these people were asiaitic in ancestory- but were Americans- that act alone should serve as proof of his poor leadership- Staying in office for 4 terms was proof he had fascist ambitions- HORRIBLE president
