is it just awards and honors, or does it dig deeper? (wisdom, self-discipline, actions, religion, sovereignty, or even the slightest belief in one's dreams...)

When I say 'heroes', I do not mean some idiot who thinks it's heroic to go to war and never ceases to engage in warfare (ok, an extreme example, but you get my point). I mean it in the ancient Greek sense, of a person with honour, who would sacrifice his/her reputation, comfort, or even his/her life for the ideals he/she believes in.

University degrees in Philosophy are usually Arts or Science degrees, BAs or BScs.
What are the chances of Yahoo Questions putting a Philosophy Section in Science, so rigorous Philosophy questions are not mixed with questions about why people are unhappy with their age or why can't we all just get along?
Would appreciate an answer that uses clear reasoning, poetically.

The Ethnic origin? The place of birth? The place of parents's birth? Or just nationality?

my mom is kurdish from lebanon, my dad is german.. I was born in egypt because my dad was a diplomat there.
anyways, we moved from egypt when I was 5 months old and I became an american citizen when I was 8 years old.. I've lived in US for most of my life. Now my question is where am I from? What should I respond when I'm asked "where are you from?" I always pause and don't know what to answer..

should I be considered a german? a kurd? a lebanese ? an american? or an egyption?

I,ve seen some of these color muicals late 40, to 50,, Their skin is so white that anything they wear looks good and sexy too. The graceful movements and the way the dance is performed makes me want to dress and dance like that too or lived in that era,I,m an addick to TCM. The sets are beyond imagination,And how about Rita Hayworth in Cover Girl.Bugsby Berkley black and white.

By older i mean people in their 30-40 that gave up in life. I always hear them talk about their high school days and how much of a bad *** they were, but then they start saying, "what if" only if" and all sorts of excuses that prevented them from doing something with their lives? At least, they'll always have their 1988 prom memories, which they never shut up about.

"[Janie] was stretched on her back beneath the pear tree soaking in the alto chant of the visiting bees, the gold of the sun and the panting breath of the breeze when the inaudible voice of it all came to her. She saw a dust-bearing bee sink into the sanctum of a bloom; the thousand sister-calyxes arch to meet the love embrace and the ecstatic shiver of the tree from root to tiniest branch creaming in every blossom and frothing with delight. So this was a marriage! She had been summoned to behold a revelation. Then Janie felt a pain remorseless sweet that left her limp and languid."

What are things that I can do in my hometown, and out of town that would give me great publicity and popularity? What are some positive things that would get me noticed, and maybe possibly even famous. Nothing like crimes or prositituion, or anything else negative. I want to be idolized and a positive role model for everybody who sees and knows me. Even my worste enemies.

I am one of those girls who was always teased and made fun of for no reason, and everybody picked on me. I hated my life and I was always so depressed. Now i am older and better, and I am out of my shell, and I am determined to be somebody!

Please help me figure out how to do this. All my life I've felt like a nobody, and I am finally out of foster care and all grown up. I also want to help others who are like me.

What can I do and how can I start?

Thank you everybody in advance, I really appreciate your help!
