The aesthetic concerns of any work of art are basically an agreed upon set of terms used to talk about the work. The most common are:
- form
- line
- color
- point
- shape
- movement

Those are just a few - the first link takes you to a much longer list. These concerns exist simply as a common ground for viewers and artists to talk about the work.

Aesthetics are a good way to get around the common relativisitc trap in art wherein the viewer asks, "What does it mean?" and the artist responds "Anything you want it to."
