If you believe you will succeed, you’ve a much better chance of succeeding than had you thought otherwise. This is the #1 reason how my Dad became a gold medal champ—90% mental...10% physical.

However, with respect to ‘denial’, it appears that when denying—addictions, emotions, illusions, etc.—the opposite intensifies. (Eg. an alcoholic denying a drinking problem reduces the likelihood of assuming control.)

This question has perplexed me for ages...any logic?

or do you feel bored, as i often feel as though my brain has awakened from a long since dormant sleep after reading or writing a good poem, as i believe that the the written word has the power to awaken thoughts and feelings long since believed extinct, and to allow us to think back to carefree days, but i am not naive enough to believe that this is how all feel, so when you read poetry or if you don't if you have it read to you in school or by friends or partners or othwise, how does it make you feel inside ?

claimed there was no difference in "Indians" from wolves, helping to justify overwhelming hatred of Native People whom he labeled redskin savages:
"BOTH BEING BEASTS OF PREY, THO' THEY DIFFER IN SHAPE."

He waged a personal war of genocide instructing Major General John Sullivan in 1779 to hunt the Mohawk like wild animals and to "Lay waste all the settlements around... that the country may not be merely overrun but destroyed," urging the general not to "listen to any overture of peace before the total ruin of their settlements is effected." Sullivan did this reporting he had, "destroy[ed] everything that contributes to their support" turning "the whole of that beautiful region from the character of a garden to a scene of drear and sickening desolation." Washington's troops amused themselves by skinning the bodies of Indians "from the hips downward, to make boot tops or leggins."

Happy President's day.

My History teacher assigned us an essay that had to be about a Black person that lived prior to 1877. Could anyone come up with some topics to write about and if possible, a site with primary sources.

Thanks

Was the American Revolution a real revolution, such as the French Revolution fought a decade later, or was it merely a rebellion against a foreign power?

I have been playing the Mridangam for about 7 years now and I'm getting close to accompanyment. I am 15 years old, and have been playing in many competitions and winning, (Chicago Tyagaraja, Samagana, Clevlend), and was wondering how hard or easy the transition from playing just solo pieces, to playing accompanyment was. If your a Tabala Ghatam or any other insturmental Carnatic plaer please answer also, I just started to get a little worried, hoping it won't be to hard.

A whimsical, hypothetical question: If you woke up one morning and found that wings were beginning to sprout from your back (like in a sci fi novel), what would you do? Freak out? Tell everyone? Hide it?
