I find that difficult to believe. The bodies of Hitler and Braun were cremated and buried in the Russian zone and were only accessible long after the Soviets had the time to take whatever they wanted. After the fall of the Soviet Union and with a huge amount of Soviet and East German documents made available to to the west if appears that the Soviets had found the remains of Hitler and Braun and had them taken to Moscow. It is pro-ported that Stalin want to personally see the skull and bones of Hitler. Had a ring been found surely the Soviets would have had it. The others that were with him in the bunker at the time were captured by the Soviets anything they had would the Soviets would have taken.
If the ring was actually found in the US the story of ho wit got there would indeed be very interesting.

The ring wound up in the hands of a Russian soldier who later sold it to a German, whose children ultimately came to the US. It was found by one of the children in a box of the father's possessions and appraised, then confirmed as having been her ring.
