Pun intended, but serious question.

There was a time when family valuables would go down through the generations and be worth good money after fifty/hundred years or so, but with technology advancing so fast and gadgets being replaced all too easily rather than being treasured and passed on, is the family heirloom a thing of the past?

Was anyone of them ever held accountable for the abuse that took place or is it just seen as tragic but all in the past? I would hate to think those awful women (not saying all sisters were but those who did the bullying and torture) got away with it.

I'm taking photography and it is something I like very much, I've even considered becoming a photographer after I graduate....but I have to ask is photography becoming a dead art?

I know alot of people will be quick to disagree with me but, with the new digital technology it seems like anyone can take a cool, beautiful, or interesting photo....so is there really any point in becoming a professional photographer?

I can understand artists, painters, etc. Some people have no artistic skill and others are gifted beyond belief...but it seems like the photographer really depends on the quality of his camera (lighting, etc) not his own ability. So what is really the difference between a professional photograher and an amateur with a digital rebel?
