Looking for the names of artists who have been inspired by Michelangelo: preferably those from the 1950s onwards.

Mark Rothko's Seagram Murals were inspired by Michelangelo's blind windows in The Laurentian Library.

It would be interesting to find an artist direclty inspired by him. Art and its movements (especially in the 1950's) has gone on a never ending spiral of change...Dada, Action, Pop, Video, etc. If you message me I might be able to get a more specific answer if I had more info from your end.

Michelangelo was a classical realist. I doubt many will say they were inspired directly by him, but we all are. He was one of the first really great artists in the classical style, something many are fond of today.
