Wonder why some baby cries more than other and how some kids growing up in the same family being so different? I believe that we were spirits before we were born. We have our own personalities and characters developed to certain level before we were given physical bodies. Being born, we continue to develop and shape our personalities; we make mistakes and we learn from them. We learn to deal with our emotions, our fears and how to control our desires. Without our bodies, no chemical reaction in our brain to help us experience joy, excitement, sadness and pain, it would be difficult to learn and to grow. Imagine we won't know the different between what is hot and what is cold; we won't know what to like or what to dislike. We also learn to see more than just skin level; it's so easy to judge someone by outward appearance. At the end when we all shed off our physical bodies, it would be interesting to know what we can see with our spiritual eyes; who we really are and if we can still recognize our mate and friends.

I could possibly imagine anything. You see I don't think we were, before we were born. I believe we were alive from our parents lives, and they two created us. Because if we were before our parents created us than that means every single possibility of human creation that there ever could be is out there waiting to be physically manifested, which is a far-fetched idea to my ways of thinking. Thus, I'd imagine if we want to "live forever" then we procreate to move ourselves along, but ourselves, egotistically speaking, will pass regardless. It's a fools errand, for all things are temporary, but it's instilled in us by human nature and thus, I suppose that's reason enough for it to go on on it's own right without any thought on it on my or anyone else's part.

I do not know if you refer to the biblical application of the word 'spirit.'
If you do then you should know that God, the resurrected Christ, and the angels are spirit persons. They have spirit bodies that Paul refers to as REAL spirit bodies.
Our world is shown to be in a way a virtual reality; their reality is the real one. Their bodies are the real ones. In the Bible, our bodies are referred to as 'tents', their bodies are referred to as 'a building from God.'
So, if you were (not born) but a created spirit you would have a body--a spirit body.

Without experiencing the pain of physical being we would never learn anything. Our souls would live on, but our minds would never be thrust into development.

I think that you have described basic reality. The rest is just a facade. Babies can't talk because they are living in spirit. Just look in their eyes. They're wondering how we became separated from them.
