Ku Klux Klan. "Ku Klux" is a derivative of the Latin word for 'circle,' and "Klan" simply means 'clan.'

The KKK is an organization devoted to the idea of white, Protestant supremacy. Historically, the KKK is most famous for their violent harassment of African Americans, particularly during the Reconstruction era. However, the KKK still exists today, persecuting Catholics, Jews, Blacks, homosexuals, and all other "deviants" to the white, Protestant cause.
