The girl below was partially correct, race is a culturally-derived construct and does not truly exist, however ANCESTRY is genetic and can be determined through DNA analysis. So, it is possible to not only infer your major ancestry (which you probably already know) but your ancestral proportions (which, you probably do not know) through genetic testing.

"Race" is a mythical construct. It is not scientifically founded and cannot be tested for by DNA. People of one geographical location often look similar because in ages past people didn't travel much and thus didn't mix up the gene pool enough.

National Geographic has a program to map the human genetic ancestry. Look it up in the national geographic website. It involves providing swabs for genetic testing and they tell you what they found out.

my grandma is half native american and my grandad is black i didnt have to do any dna test for that
