Im in the desert lonely and rather ... needing some inspiration to relive my tensions if you will...

Over a number of years I have noticed that the Police, usually men but not specifically, have the same type of dark, piercing eyes. On TV shows, Police are often cast with these characteristics. Why would this be, is it a genetic thing, or the way the job makes them?

God created universe in great wisdom.
If that is true then why did he creat humans and allow them, from what it seems, to be the destruction of his creation? Was perhaps that moment of his decision not so wise? Could it be that creation was perfect to begin with but evolution stepped in somewhere along the way and gave its anomalous twist to Adam and Eve?

I am doing my dissertation on how women are portrayed as deviant if they do not follow the guidelines society has laid for them. This would include women always being labelled badv in religion because of Adam and Eve. In academic texts such as Pollak, Lombroso etc. In films I have alot of examples eg, Thelma and Loiuse, Butterfields 8, Waterloo Bridge, Fatal Attraction- Bad women dying at the end.

Does anyone know any plays by classic writers which stereotype women as gossips, bad etc? Any modern books?

Any films?

I work with students, and lately I've heard them talking about things being relative. There is no "absolute truth". "Yes, I can see the wall of that building, but it may or may not actually be there." Have we moved away from actual logic and gone toward feelings? Is there something which is absolutely true? Is the philosophy of relativism creating stupid human beings who cannot think about anything concretely?

there's three schools of thought on this:
1. "writing a sonnet outside of guidelines is like playing tennis without a net"
2. "think outside of the box"
3. "what box?"

seriously, is creativity more original and, well, creative if you are able to get past the limitations and still make something amazing? or should we just flush all the rules associated with art/creation down the drain?

Spit on the protestors & sometimes even worse. What do they think of their behaviour when they look back?
Are they still the seething bigots they were then?
Are they disgusted with thier own behavior back then?
Do they excuse & rationalize their behavior?

Does anyone know someone who was like this back then? How do they talk about it now?
