The book was releashed in the 90's, the hero of the book is clone without him being aware of it, I think his mother is a scientist. His clone excapes from an island in South. America and finds him. His clone falls in love with his girlfriend, who's clone was killed. I also remember that very rich people clone themselves to have spare parts. Toward the end of the book when the gig is up, many of the rich people fly into the island to have operations from the body parts of their clones. I can't remember the title or the author.

Not sure what you mean. The movie was similar in a way to Brave New World. But if you tell us what precisely you remember about the old book, you might get more precise help.

Can't think of any one book, but "The Island" does draw inspiration from many sources: Brave New World and THX-1138 feature societies kept docile through drugs. Logan's Run is a perfect society where people have numbers as last names and must die at 21 (The heroes go on the run). Coma has bodies being harvested for parts. Clonus Horror has politicians making clones of themselves, while Futureworld uses robot duplicates.

There was a 1980 movie called The Island with Michael Caine. That was based on a novel written by Peter Benchley (who also wrote the screenplay), published in 1979.

If you're talking about the 2005 movie with Ewan McGregor, I have no info on a similar book, sorry.
