would it make sense for atheist to might as well just believe in the existence of God? since if we all die and it turns out there is no God, then thats just it, the end of the road, no more thoughts or soul or afterlife, we are just that, dead and nothing more. But if atheist turn out to be wrong and there is God, and because he believed in God, then at least he has an afterlife, however that is taught how to be achieved by various religions.

I mean, an atheist wont lose anything by believing in the existence of God, since even if he is right that there is no God, in the end, thats just it, we are all dead. no heaven or hell.

any thoughts here?

Hi. I don't know if anyone understands me but whenever I read I can't hear myself speak the words inside. I can read and understand it but I can't actually hear myself when I read without my voice.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

He was a British zoologist and writer. Read his books as a child in Russian translation, but can't find any here. I am not 100% sure about the spelling, could be Darell or Darrel, etc.
The books are great, funny and endearing, about animals, and his family. One was named something like "My family and other animals".
Thanks for the help.

Why don't I photograph well? I'm not saying I'm a 10/10, but I'm not ugly, I'm thinking it has something to do with lighting, my camera, or my hair style. I notice in digital pictures my jawline or hairline kind of look weird, or not defined. Most of the pictures I take are in my house. I've tried different lighting etc, I just can't figure out what it is, maybe 1/20 pictures look decent.

Some of the questions I have read on here are absolutely indicative of stupid people overrunning the planet. Should we enact legislation to somehow physically prevent these people from reproducing?

My aunt gave me a huge sum of money for my birthday....so i decided to spend it all on this thing that she finds useless...now is it ethical for her to dictate how i spend the money?or is it unethical for her to do so because i accepted the money under no such condition?

When this is the case, i can assume that she decided giving me money so that she can control me in the future, make me buy something she wanted me to buy, educate me on investing money wisely, etc(what i mean here is people always do the most selfish thing possible). So am i ripping her off by not giving her this privilege(as in was this a deal that is accepted by everyone without any verbal agreement)?Or am i justified in doing so because i was not aware of the condition under which i accepted the money? And what if controlling what i buy has put me in a much worse condition than when i had no money?

I was assigned an oral presentation about Bob Marley's accomplishments and musical contribution. I could'nt find an answer to the pioneering issue on his web site. Some people think that I just don't get it, well probably it's because I don't belong to his generation. If anybody can help me with an answer I would appreciate that a lot.

(pause between each line)

Rasheed (clock-tower)

Good morning Rasheed,
I'm so sorry about the other day..
I was angry, and so unwanted,
Unloved and broken.
I sould have thought...
before i jumped from high off the clocktower.
Please forgive me Rasheed,
My intensions were wrong.
For i did not jump...
I was pushed from such a height...
by something else, and i havn't figured it out yet.
But i fell...
and regreted it as soon as i dropped.
But Rasheed, i didn't mean it.
I tried to stop myself...
but i'm stronger than i once thought.
As i sit here now,
in the corner of a dungeon...
cut and chained
in the dark depths of hell.
I know i shouldn't have jumped.
I ask forgivness once more Rasheed,
Don't repeat my indignity...
warn others of this... Plague!
and tell them of how I burn...
everyday, i hear the crys of souls stricken with suicide
Tell them Rasheed,
of the clocktower..
and of what threw me off it that day
Why I am here..
And why I'll never be saved

In this, O joy of Kurus, there is resolute insight; but the thoughts of the irresolute are many-branched and endless.

Even as a small flame of a lamp gives abundant light, one should not underrate right-mindedness, even though meagre. The wise, O Partha, aspire for it very much, but this right-mindedness is difficult to attain by everyone. Even as the phosphor's stone is not easy to obtain like ordinary stones, or a drop of nectar becomes available only by a stroke of good fortune, so this right-mindedness which leads to God-realisation is difficult to attain. Just as the river Ganga ends only in the sea, so this insight is the only knowledge which alms at nothing but God.Everything else is perverse reasoning, which is ever changing, and non-discriminating persons always take delight in ft.The latter,O Arjuna. attain only heaven, earth or hell, and do not get even a glimpse of the bliss of self-realisation.

Many reality shows have brought the ideas that it is not that difficult to make your dreams come true. Broken houses are fixed, wedding ceremony and honey moon, money and money and more money is given out to people for very little efforts. Meanwhile, life has been very difficult for so many people. They don't have enough money to live a decent life: they live in simple huts, their children drop out of school, undernourished meals are skipped for the lack of money. What do you think about the contradictoray situations? How you can change the situations?
