In this, O joy of Kurus, there is resolute insight; but the thoughts of the irresolute are many-branched and endless.

Even as a small flame of a lamp gives abundant light, one should not underrate right-mindedness, even though meagre. The wise, O Partha, aspire for it very much, but this right-mindedness is difficult to attain by everyone. Even as the phosphor's stone is not easy to obtain like ordinary stones, or a drop of nectar becomes available only by a stroke of good fortune, so this right-mindedness which leads to God-realisation is difficult to attain. Just as the river Ganga ends only in the sea, so this insight is the only knowledge which alms at nothing but God.Everything else is perverse reasoning, which is ever changing, and non-discriminating persons always take delight in ft.The latter,O Arjuna. attain only heaven, earth or hell, and do not get even a glimpse of the bliss of self-realisation.

Hi Jk,
Nice statement, i'm with you on this one. Is the resolute rightful so scarce? Well, with the way thing are in the world and all, hell yeah. But i believe that every single human being can be educated consiously into spiritual enlightenment really. As for myself it's a gradual and slow process.
This nectar allegory you are employing, do you mean the power of discretion? Is it Divine Guidance or our own deliberations towards higher levels that does it? I refuse to beleive that it boils down to luck, since i have faith all human can attain perfection. The problem is education, and the willingness to get educated.

The simplest way to understand the meanings of Bhagwat Gita is not to get entangled by ununderstandable issues. It is comparable to you being given a theory on Molecular biology and explain cloning! If you have the knowledge to understand it you can explain. But that knowledge is to be SOUGHT.

This is what is mentioned in the text that you have mentioned above. For achieving anything you have to work hard. This includes understanding God and godliness.

In your own words, the resolute rightful is is abundant and it is available for the well initiated. In a word which is expecting everything in the form of a pill , this is scarce and scarry!

No offense meant, and this is not strictly the proper category,,,BUT AND ALSO TOO,,it's late for me,,and I'm only going to address the first part of the diatribe.

MY OWN OPINION!

"A drop of nectar, is a gift,,,and so often one that's wasted as it falls to the Earth, untouched in a detour, by one who might capture it, savor it, and be blessed by the nature of it."

If that relates to Good or Not good "fortune" then I submit, I've delivered a vailid answer.

I remember a film that I saw when I was young about ants. The ants transferred a drop of nectar from their anttenia , from one ant to the other. True story. Good Luck ! :)
