This is not meant as an attack on "modern" men/women any more than it is meant as a defense on "old-fashioned" men/women.

But at least the way I mean it, I can understand a historical and biological precedent to the way that roles developed over hundreds (or thousands) of years. Men doing hard labor, women staying home to raise kids, women changing their names, men paying for everything, men ruling the home, virginity, promiscuity, etiquette, dating, marriage, you name it. I know these roles aren't right for everyone, but that doesn't mean they're wrong for everyone.

Times are changing, but there is a reason why this is how it's been for a long time: it might actually be the BEST and MOST STABLE way to raise a family.

I'd like to hear some of your thoughts on what you define as "traditional" gender roles, and whether or not you think they still apply to society in general, or your own life.

What are the steps I should take? I have two years, but need to figure out who pays for what, etc.

Also, since the proposal was private, should I have an announcement party or just send letters?

I have sooooo many questions.

I have an indoor cat that gets bored a lot. I can't let him out like my other cat because he is blind. Do you know of any toys that a blind indoor cat would enjoy?

I already have a scratching post and another toy where he can spin around a ball and scratch his claws in the middle. I also have various balls that he can roll around (he appears to have grown bored of these though).

My granny taught me that when I was small, you just put a little hunk of cheese in it, and eat it with a spoon as in melts in the coffee. It sounds gross, but it is so yummy.

Which do you think is the more appropriate approach: trying to ban or shout down an opposing viewpoint, or actually trying to ANSWER a difficult and thought-provoking question?

Three times I've posed a simple question: how is it we humans know things like murdering infants, slavery, and genocide are wrong, but a supposedly infinitely compassionate god does not? And three times, the report-monkeys have jumped on it, shrieking and beating their chests, and managed to get them banned. Is it really THAT hard for you to confront such a glaring contradiction to your dogma? Is your faith REALLY such a house of cards that you must try to ban or destroy anything that disagrees with you, rather than risk THINKING about the ramifications of what you believe?

why must theology and dogma, and religion in general be so absolutely _Serious_?

who else thinks that religion makes people too serious, which in turn leads to serious consequences...usually negative?

When I was little my dad moved out of the house because my mom found out he was cheating on her. I later found out that he was actually going to leave us for this other woman but at the last minute she declined. My dad doesn't know that I know all about his dirty little secrets and its hard for me to have a relationship with him because I know that he doesn't really love me if he was planning on leaving me. How am I supposed to have a relationship with him without telling him that I know everything?

In a recent dream I dug out a golden rod and a golden orb (from under our real, huge pine tree in the garden).
They looked like a broken sceptre, lain close to each.
I wanted to touch them, but I couldn't, not 'cause they moved, but I felt like they are taboo for me someway.

What could this mean?
Serious answers please.

I'm 23, have been married for a little over a year, and we have two children together (youngest is 9 months). My husband is completely un-romantic. When I try to be initiate some romance of any kind, he'll ignore me or tell me he's busy. When I try to show him affection he occasionally gets annoyed and pushes me off, even in front our friends, and (not to sound vain) but I know I'm beautiful, although he rarely even compliments me. His idea of quality time is playing x-box while I sit on the couch. He can be incredibly cruel, cold, and callous. Things have become so bad between us I have considered leaving, but I couldn't afford to and for the sake of our children I would like for us to be a happy family. If I try talking with him about this, even kindly and without accusations, he gets very angry. I have no idea what to do, but I am MISERABLE. I feel like I'm nothing at all to him. Any advice would be well appreciated
