In a recent dream I dug out a golden rod and a golden orb (from under our real, huge pine tree in the garden).
They looked like a broken sceptre, lain close to each.
I wanted to touch them, but I couldn't, not 'cause they moved, but I felt like they are taboo for me someway.

What could this mean?
Serious answers please.

Fascinating.... You're digging at the base of a tree...(getting to the root of the matter....) and finding symbols of royalty...these symbols may only be used by a king, the orb in one hand, the rod in the other....and finding these items under a tree that represents things like immortality, and everlasting life...hmmm....
these are symbols of power, but you aren't allowed to wield them.....Can you remember any more of the story line? I know this is going to sound like a weird question, and not one I would normally ask, but do you consider yourself to be a Christian? Something in the back of my mind is saying that it could be related, if you are, and also that we are in the Christmas season...... The orb is a female symbol, usually held in the left hand, I think, while the rod (staff, scepter) is a male symbol, usually held in the right.... (In doing a search on the web, there are links explaining these items as having religious significance, as well as symbols of a king's worldly power..) (the references to male/female energy, and some of the other stuff are from the Woman's Dictionary of Symbols and Sacred Objects) I'm not a Christian myself, but the idea nagging in the back of my mind is that if you are a Christian, and had this dream during the Christmas season, you may be looking for the "reason for the season", searching for the King (searching for "meaning") under a symbol that means everlasting life and immortality, but the symbol in question has been glommed over in layers of frivolity and commercialism....If you aren't a Christian, then reflect on what the concepts mean to you personally, hopefully I have at least given you some ideas to work on...

You may be exploring or digging into stuff that is mysterious and out of the ordinary. There might be some value in doing this, but your not sure whether you should. You always must be careful you know what you are doing when exploring strange territory. Meditate, exercise, and eat healthy, so that you will have the right type of energy to survive as an explorer spiritually.
