We may come to a point when we're too tolerant towards the islam... Recently there was a debate in my city: the majority had ratified a proposal to forbid the wearing of a kerchief. There was a lot of protest and calls about discrimination. At first, I was against it too... But then again, in Turkey, kerchiefs are forbidden too and most of the population is muslim... Our country supports the separation of Church and State (unlike the US btw), so should we give up that principle? A government must be neutral, so in that respect I support the amendement...

Europe is not spiritually dead. It is actively secular. It has taken a choice - both at the level of the state and the individual - to not place religion at the centre of life.

In the UK just 1.7 million people attend services at churches of the two main denominations - in other words, just 1 in 30 of the population. But this is not because they have converted to Islam or are letting it rule their lives. There are so few conversions to Islam that they make news headlines when they happen!!

Europe has a long a rich secular future ahead of it, free of the religious hatred that has dogged its past and continues to ruin America and its world standing.

It's too late for Europe. Things are going to have to get a lot worse there before they start getting better.
The best hope for them now is to serve as a warning for the rest of the world. If we pay attention, we can learn from their mistakes. If not, we are destined to repeat them. Either way...take good notes.

I do not think Islam will win but being spiritually dead would give them an advantage we need a christian revival

It is not a question of spirituality, it is a question of being too accepting.

As a liberal, that has been hard for me to admit. But it we put up with irrationality and violence in the name of "freedom of religion" and "free speech" then we are doomed.

The Europeans will have their battle with Muslims, we in the US will have ours against the Christian fundies.

i don't sprirtually anything has squat to do with the situation. islam has been invading and encroaching on europe for close to 2000 years. and it is not a one way "invasion".
I don't think you should let other pundits frame the question for you.
did the nazi mentality survive world war 2? of course.
will radical murdering crazies from outside europe and us attack innocent people? yes
don't think they will always only be twisted out of the muslim faith.

If they cared more about their freedom, and about the secular government that makes it possible more than about being "nice", they would be able to resist. Being allegedly "spiritually dead" is irrelevant.

No.

Atheism will save the world from the evils of religion.

One does not need to have religion to combat another religion trying to take over.
