Yes.
"For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD,..." 1 Samuel 15:23
Up Date:
"Exodus 25 commands the making of religious statues."
"...let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them." Exodus 25:8
James O, the vatican is playing you for a fool. Exodus say nothing at all about making status. All God is telling them is how to make the sanctuary and what to make it out of. "Them" is not referring to status. IF you would actually read the Bible (AV1611) in the OT, you would notice how often the Jews end up in trouble with God because of graven images, or status. For the Bible to say what you stated, it would have to contradict itself. The Bible doesn't contradict itself, mama contradicts the Bible. 1 Samuel 15:23 applies very well to the vatican.

It could be hatred or, even worse, disregard.
Apathy is truly the opposite of love. Love and hate are both highly charged emotions, but apathy just doesn't care.

Yes, it could probably be seen that way since the Bible forbids the act of serving two masters.
