My MIL seems perfectly fine with everyone not being close. It has finally dawned on me that if her own son doesn't care - why should I? In my family, my mom is the glue that usually smooths everything out & keeps us all close. However, my MIL is the complete opposite. She doesn't seem to care if we all talk or not. Their family is very superficial & boring. Everything is on the surface. The siblings never call each other and treat each other worse than strangers. It is as if they are acquaintances that happen to be siblings. The mother always calls us & seems to thrive on my family as entertainment. Snidely saying things to me like Marie Barone does. She will call her son (my hub) often & he never calls her back. Finally when I had my kids, I stopped trying to push them together & fight to keep my own family close. Now because I no longer push for a relationship she believes that I am cold. She never says anything - god forbid she show an emotion. Am I ok for sitting back?

What about making the maximum age 65 in good health and not giving waivers just because you are an elected official? If your number comes up, you serve and the Governor of your state replaces you with someone else, even if you are a sitting U.S. Congressman or Senator. If you're the President, you are replaced by the next person in the line of succession. Reckon that would get them thinking real hard in Washington the next time that they want to get this country involved in an armed conflict (war)?

My wife recently broke her leg, and I've been charged with a lot of her care. Lately, she seems to get upset and depressed easily, even going from elated to depressed within minutes over the slightest thing. Her biggest moment of happiness lately was her doctor's appointment, during which she gushed to me about how wonderful and good-looking the office staff is. She even went so far as to ponder if she married someone like that...handsome, successful (I make average wages and have battled a weight problem all my life.) She had previously gushed about how great a classmate who lost weight looked. However, when it comes to me, she seems to oppose my desire to get in shape. I honestly feel like she's not attracted to me anymore. I'm at a total loss.

So, I'm a good student in NHS with academic achievement awards, perfect attendance... I've gotten all straight A's with a few B's in high school and 2 C's. Today I found out that I got another C+ in my AP Bio class. I'm going to take Bio at St. Louis University and this just kills me! I'm disappointed in my self and I don't know how I'm going to tell my mom.

I'm afraid these 3 C's are something that I'm going to regret when I'm older!!! I've always been a STRAIGHT A student UNTIL I got to high school. Some other students have straight A's who are taking basic classes. I'm a senior with mostly college level classes!

I'm so ashamed!

Every little change in my baby, from a change in eating habits to change in routing, and I want to run screaming to the hospital. I had three miscarriages and tried to get pregnant for 7 years. I'm desperately afraid something will happen to him. I don't want to raise a paranoid hypochondriac, or be too protective of him when he gets older (much, much older... lol). I'm really scared I'm gonna mess this poor kid up.

I have a cage with a dwarf hamster in it for my sister, and I want to know how to wrap it. I'd say it's about 1 1/2 foot by 1 1/2 foot. I don't want it to just have a bow around it, either. I want her to have to OPEN it. But it has to be able to breathe, etc etc. Thanks!

How can the religious wingnuts be pacified while teaching our children honest, useful science (or is this even possible)?

I live in the bible belt, and fear my kids won't get the quality science education I did (I was even taught natural selection in the church school I attended for a few years).
