If you have a new Buddha give him a good wash and then give him a prominent place in your home/room-you should almost 'feel' instinctively where he should go-Dress him in some freshly washed beads/bracelets/stones if you have some..and as often as you can remember lay some fresh flowers at his feet. Give him a candle of his own and light it with thoughts of thanks, dreams, loved ones and lost ones.

We don't stroke any part of the Buddha. Those fat "buddhas" aren't representations of the Buddha at all, but of Chinese kitchen gods. Put your Buddha anywhere you'll see it as a reminder of the things he taught. I should put mine here by the computer so I don't fling as much poo as I sometimes do.

Put it on your meditiation shrine.
Just remember, Buddha never asked to be worshiped or deified (though some choose to do just that), just to be heard.
