I like to take someone out and I also thought about offering to buy her a dress. Is this ok?

absolutley....where can i find a guy like you in fl....not many guys are like that anymore and i give you props your amazing and any girl would be lucky to have found you...and not juss for thie gifts but for your personality because you must have a great one 2 even wanna do something like that for a girl you like...i envy that girl that has you lol x0x0

Depends on the woman....some like any kind of gifts...some might take it to mean you're implying they can't afford their own clothing or that you want them to wear a style you find appealing (instead of what they like).
it's iffy, but hopefully most women would be appreciative and/or flattered at the gesture. If someone bought me a dress I would be kewl with it, but if I didn't care for it, I wouldn't wear it.

Wow, I think that is extremely thoughtful on your part. Now, if your taking her somewhere super fancy then yes it would be appropriate...but if it just a casual date then you might put her off a lil especially if it is your first date. I guess it really depends on the women.

For a first date its definetly akward. Buying gifts for girls and taking them shopping is totally fine, but you first have to establish a relation with the girl or else is just plain creepy.

if this is a first date, they might feel overwhelmed, like you're pressuring her.
but if you've known her for some time, then a dress would be very nice.
if you want to buy something for her on your first date, try some flowers.

It depends, if it's someone you know very well and have been dating for a while, then it's fine (if you know she wouldn't find it creepy). Otherwise, especially if it's a 1st date, then it would just be really weird. Seriously consider this, you may not get another chance.

If it's the first time taking her out, I wouldn't buy her a dress. Idk if I'm strange or something, but I think I'd feel kind of funny if a guy bought me a dress on the first date.

Yes, especially if it is a formal place or something like that. Just explain and let her know it is a gift. It's all in the presentation.
