....that ...They can extract metal from ore. Metallurgical procedure are not very easy. What helped them distinguish that some minerals are ore and some are stones.
We find ores deep down the surface. By no means ancient people could have dug so deep. How did they got knowledge that iron can be extracted from hematite. Similarly copper, bronze from their ores etc.etc.
Were they damm genius gifted with mind blowing intuitive powers or god appeared in there dreams saying ' O man goeth there, diggeth it, melteth it in absence of air and geteth iron'.
How did it popped in their brain that ores can give them metal.
Thank you for your time.

A case of a 60 year old male , with a body weight of 17.9 kg/m2 , brought in the emergency room for shortness of breath.
The patient is a known smoker for 30 pack years. He occasionally drinks. He is a known hypertensive and has congestive heart failure. He is already on maintenance medications for hypertension for 10 years. He claims to have a lung problem but could not recall the diagnosis, but is currently taking a combination of inhaled long acting bronchodilators and steroids. He is already a retired public transportation driver.
His condition started around 4 days prior to admission as cough which was productive with whitish sputum. There was no associated fever. Patient just took in some cough medications which afforded only temporary relief.
3 days prior to admission noted to have body malaise this time associated with slight shortness of breath, tried having some nebulizations at a local clinic which afforded only slight relief, thus continued having it every 4 hours.
2 days prior to admission condition still persisted thus decided to seek consult with a doctor in their locality, was given some antibiotics, cough medications and was told to continue his nebulization.
On the day of admission, noted his shortness of breath to increase in severity despite of the nebulizations, thus decided to be brought in the emergency room at a hospital in their locality.

On Physical examination, patient was examined to be in distress:
BP: 110/80 mm Hg
HR-120 beats/min
RR: 28 cycles /min
T: 36.9 C

Skin: cold with clammy sweats,
Neck: prominent sternocleidomastoid muscles, no lymphadenopathy, (+) neck vein engorgement,
HEENT: non icteric, pinkish palpebral conjunctiva, no tonsillophryngeal congestion, uvula in the middle, tonsils not enlarged,
Chest/Lungs: no deformities, barrel chested, no scars,

On physical examination, Mr. Winstone was found to have a body mass index of 27.9, his blood pressure was 133/90, pulse was 110, respiratory rate was 14, and his oxygen saturation was 88% on room air. The results of his head and neck exam were unremarkable, with no jugular venous distension noted. His chest excursions were symmetric with evidence of hyperinflation. Mr. Winstone's breath sounds were decreased throughout, and the expiratory phase was prolonged. His heart exam was notable for distant but otherwise normal heart sounds. The abdominal exam was unremarkable. There was no clubbing of his digits noted, but there was mild cyanosis and peripheral edema. His neurologic exam was nonfocal. Arterial blood gas drawn on room air revealed a pH of 7.39, PaO2 of 53, and PaCO2 of 44.
His pulmonary function results before bronchodilators (% predicted) were forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1): 1.25 L (41%), forced vital capacity (FVC): 2.53 L (60%), and FEV1/FVC: 49. Post bronchodilator, his results were: FEV1: 1.29 L (42%) and FVC: 2.64 L (62%). His residual volume was 6.74 L (329%), total lung capacity: 9.45 L (150%) and his diffusing capacity was 6.96 L (25%).
Questions:
1. What is your impression?
2. Give at least 5 differential diagnosis?
3. What is your management?

I've got this newcoworker that I'm supposed to train and he complains too much, im losing it.?
I'm not really into training, but I am required at my job to train some people that are new. I think I explain things as clear as I can, and I have patience. But there is this one guy at work that I have sat with for an hour the past 3 days to show him things on the computer and he constantly complains and doesn't like computer and how they work, and he doesn't like doing things my way and tried to always cut corners. I'm trying to be patient but I just get quiet when he says some smart **** remarks. I really like my job and I haven't been here long and all this pressure is starting to get to me because I don't want my boss to feel like I'm a failure. I have soo many jobs that I'm juggling right now that it can be overwhelming at times. And I don't want to tell my boss I can't handle it because I'm afraid they may let me go if they find out I'm getting stressed from all this pressure. I am the only one on my team that knows all the little details of what we do, its not easy, help!

I want to follow in the footsteps of H. Cartier-Bresson and capture The Decisive Moment.

Seems to me I'll be more likely to accomplish this if I don't use a camera that looks like a bazooka!

I know HC-B used a Leica but they're a bit spendy for me.

I've assembled a list of affordable cameras that I hope won't scare the bejeezus out of the locals.

The only criteria? Must be 35mm *film* and have swappable lenses.

Which would you choose? Or none of the above?

1. Voigtlander Bessa R3A ... grey
2. Nikon F80 ... black (can't find a silver one)
3. Oly OM-2 ... chrome
4. Minolta CL/CLE
5. Contax G-2

TIA for your help!

Well, I have Windows Vista Basic, but when I try to install it, it is suppose to give me two choices.

1."Upgrade" Keeps all files, programs, etc.
2. "New" Deletes everything and gives you a clean start to install on.

I want to "upgrade" it but it says that I need 6503MB free space on my C: partion or something like that in order to do this.

Can anyone tell me what that is and how to clear more space?

Thank you in advance,

Basically, I'll usually drink a bit of warm water just before practising singing, and I'll sip during short breaks as well (since I practise with mild air-con as the weather outside is usually too hot). Most of the time it's fine and I can sing and breathe as per normal (diaphragmmatic breathing and singing), but sometimes (not too often, but often enough) when I take deep breaths (quick or slower...again I'm breathing properly), my stomach or abdomen makes this really loud gargling noise, like water being gargled around inside it. It doesn't really affect my breathing per se, but it does get annoying. Sometimes it goes on for the whole practice session, sometimes just occasionally now and then. Why does this happen? Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else has had similar experiences? My stomach usually doesn't gurgle so loudly even when I'm hungry, and it only happens when I sing.

(and yes I do take private vocal lessons)
