The karat weight is how much gold is in the alloy...1k gold would have almost no gold what-so-ever in it, so it would be incredibly cheap. 10k gold is cheaper than 14k gold, but it is more sturdy as pure gold is very soft (that's why miners used to bite gold to see if it was real).
So with 1k gold, you are talking about something that is mostly another metal and probably wouldn't even look like a gold (the other metal can vary from country to country)

Huh? The minimum you can buy in the U.S. is 10 karat gold (the absolute purest being 24 karats). The cost depends on how much of it you buy.

Yea that is most def. an awkward situation but I mean me and my mom watch movies all the time I hate watching movies with my dad because he is a big perv and says things about woman that are very demeaning and I hate it. I am so glad I dont live at home anymore but not like my b/f is any better I actually feel uncomfortable watching sex scenes in front of him because I think he would rather fantasize about the woman and he tells me i'm fantasizing about the guy when that is not even true so its all messed up .

For gold, carats are a measure of purity, not of amount.
Pure gold is 24 carat. 18 carat gold is only 75% pure.
The price for pure gold is currently USD800 per ounce.

one karat gold? by the ounce would probably be super cheap, maybe five cents.
