This question is for both Atheists and my fellow Christians...

Christians- If you have raised your child in a Christian home and they came to you later in life and said they are now Atheist, would you accept them or not? Would continuously quote scripture and go out of your way to bring them back to Christianity?

Atheists- If you raised your children to not believe in God and years later in life they came to you and said they had given their life to God and are now a Christian, would you accept or reject them? Would you constantly tell them that there's no such thing as God?

I'm just curious... With all the bickering back and forth between both Christians and Atheists about how each of us is constantly brainwashing our children I thought this would be an interesting question to ask.

I get different interpitations in different bibles. I use KJV, I have the ilumina bible, and it says Genesis 6:1-4 that it talks about taking the female race. The KJV never says anything about a race of 2 different spices. So one bible comes up with demons under the hand of God's will(for he banished them here) mating the female race...then he turns to man and blames man for being evil. and floods the whole earth.

the KJV says(to me anyway) that the powerfull people were people still with God's spirit in them and their offspring would be like men of old. God is leaving man in these verse's. We onced lived 900 yrs old, but God is angry with all this sin, and now we live 120 yrs old.


I show one verse in KJV, they come up with another bible NIV or whatever and says this one says it clearer and it means this....I ALREADY HAVE the understanding. I call it bible wars.

why is my understanding wrong using KJV, and whoever's right using there other bibles? Why don't they argue with KJV?

My daughter, 12, going on 30, has not exactly been disciplined well. I treat her like a friend. It just kind of happens. I know that is not ideal. Now she has no respect for me and treats me horribly and doesn't listen. How do I start from scratch here and get back on track? Please tell me it's not too late.

I have a five month old boy and my pediatrician told me he's not gaining enough weight because my pregnancy has stopped my milk supply. I have been pregnant for about a month. And my baby has not gained a single ounce in that time. She said that my body stopped producing the hormone that produces milk because it would cause labor. I have currently switched to bottles to keep from starving my baby but am trying to find a way to breast feed again. If you have any advice please help.

Sure there are some answers that come to mind, like when a spot appears or a rip, frey comes about. But is thier a fashion guidline that says "hey", after one year you should be rotating the old out and the new in? I'm refering to a corporate white or dress long sleve shirt that you would wear a tie with daily.

we have been at the same complex for 2 years. Our complex recently changed management companies. When we went to renew our lease we were told we have to get property liability insurance. Also... they added some fees to the lease (new amounts on pet deposits and general deposits) that we did not have to pay when we moved in... but they want us to inital these new fees when we renew. But if we inital them... cant they make us pay them?

example when we moved in for pet fees all they required to own a pet is 150 per pet (2 max) non refundable pet fee. NOW they require 300 per pet non refundable pet fee.... 200 pet deposit.... and a 10 per month pet rent. it is on the pet addendum... which we have to initial. We paid the 150 per pet fee when we moved in... but if we inital it cant the make us pay the higher fees?

Also they now require 300K property liability insurance.

Can they add all these fees and requirements to exsisting residents?

a client's daughter brought in boxes of candy for everyone for Xmas today which I thought was really sweet. a couple of my co-workers were complaining that she got Russell Stover for everyone instead of See's or Godiva!!! I really don't think she had to bring us anything seeing as how she pays $8,000 a month for her mother to stay in the facility! do you work with or know anyone like this? just curious! :-)

I know not everyone does this, which is why I am saying "many". If I am content, and happy with my life and my beliefs (Judaism), why do you feel the need to preach to me? I am not trying to be rude here, I would like an actual answer. Do you feel you are doing a good deed by trying to convert people, or is it another reason?

I don't go around preaching to people. I respect everyone's beliefs, because I know there are many perspectives to life, and that there are many possibilities out there as to how we were created. So..why?

Watching the sky with my mom tonight, she asked me what the bright star next to Mars was. I said there were no other planets in the sky (live in the southeastern US), and as we were looking at it, the "star" just faded out. The sky was completely clear of clouds. It was about 6:40 pm when the sky had gotten pretty much completely dark. Mars was about 10 degrees above the eastern horizon, and this star was about the same distance above the horizon, slightly brighter, and 10-20 degrees to the right of Mars. The object was there for at least 20 seconds or so and stationary.

Afterwards, my mom said she's seen this thing for years in the same spot in the sky from time to time, and it bothers her that she can't explain it. Is this some sort of astronomical phenomenon?
