To start with, without using math jargon, what is an asymptote?

Find the vertical, horizontal and oblique asymptote, IF ANY, of each rational function below.

(1) R(x) = (3x + 5)/(x - 6)

(2) F(x) = (-2x^2 + 1)/(2x^3 + 4x^2)

What is the difference between a vertical, horizontal and oblique asymptote, in simple words?

There's going to be a Christmas party at school, in a classroom, and I need some ideas as to what games to hold for them. I'm thinking something like musical chairs, but more mature for 8th graders. It can't be a movie, because there's already music.

I live about 5 hours from Manila and I get off school this Friday.
So what are the days he'll be having concerts and where?
I heard the time schedules of him being here are just awful which leaves me feeling guilty for not going so I was hoping he'd be here throughout the weekend.

By any chance anyone knows?

Im not talking about hollywood film stars or anything coz i dont think they represent the 'average joe'! Im on about men you meet on the street who havent just buzz cut no.1 or no.2 but are actually bald/balding! No 'looks arent important' or 'its personality that counts' stuff, just honest answers! We should all know you have to get your foot in the door before they get the chance to get to know someone! Please also give me your age and a bit about yourself so i have an idea where the opinions are coming from! To get the ball rolling, im balding and dont like flat chested women and prefer blondes to brunettes, the woman has to be under 5'10 tall! Thanks for your help!

My son has bipolar, he was fine off of meds for the past two years. And is in the middle of a breakdown. I am going nuts here.
SA is the worst place for health care, I am aware of that today more than ever.
His dr moved away, and I never found another. I took him to see a gp and she gave him Risperdal 5mg, 1 3x a day. Those meds are finished and now he seems distant and in a trance, I go back to the dr and to only find that she has closed until next year.
So off his wife and I run around hoping to find some one to help us. No one can until the new year.
OMG, I don't know what to do.
Any GP just won't or can't help us.
Now I am stressing, with christmas around the corner how is my son going to cope. He is 24 please if anyone could give me some insight.

doctor is a devil worshipper in real life ! you wouldn't know that he is ! you pray to God that he will guide the man"s hands to make no mistakes and do well with his task on hand of saving your life(Idid say it was twisted) so he believes in satan and worships only him! will God still make him do well just because you prayed to him???

I have a new car and i don't drive it that much b/c i live close to my work, school, and grocery shops. so i drive about 2000 miles every 4 months or so. should i do oil change every 3 months or should i wait for it to hit the 3000 mile mark?

hi i have a 3 and a half year old daughter im a stay at home mum and im finding my daughter keeps being naughty at home and rude but when we go to my mums or out with my mum she is good with no back chatting or being rude shes lovely but doesnt want to know me just my mum and sister.i know that they have been there from the start of her life i had a very long hard labour then a emergency c-section so when my daughter was born my husband went to work and my mum and sister come round to help me as i was very poorley so they played a big part in my daughters life.i keep feeling like my mum and sister always are alot calmer with my daugher and find it alot easier to play with her it just comes naturally to them.i feel like im no good at being a mum and that my daughter enjoys my mum and sisters company more than mine i love my daughter to bits and she says she loves me i just wish she could b the little girl she is for my mum and sister for me.can anyone help?

We are committed to each other and building a life together, but we are not living together or married, because of the feelings of 2 of his children. They are almost out of highschool and we are waiting for that. That's not the problem. Every year I spend Christ. with his family at his parents. No one really talksto me, except for his sister. They all open gifts, he has 5 brother/sisters + grandchildren, etc. while I just sit there like an idiot. Noone ever asks about my son (who spends Christ. with his Dad). It's not really just Christ.. I always make a point to invite his parents over for dinner a few times every summer when they are home, but not once have they invited us over. His ynger brthr got married this year and they have embraced his wife, but I feel as though they look at me as just his "chick", his "lover" his ....I don't know. At the wddng during pictures his mthr said FAMILY only. It was the whole tone you know? Anyway should I go there for Christmas this year?
