Can I use a package of sugar cookie mix to make jam thumbprints?

I want to make raspberry split seconds, but I'm really short on time and I don't want to go to the grocery. I have a powdered sugar cookie mix. Can I make up the dough, put a dent in the center and add jam just like I made the dough? Will this work?
