I just started a job at Hungry Jacks two days ago part-time as a crew member, but then decided I absolutely hated it and quit without any notice. i.e simply didn't turn up the next day & unplugged phone. The reason for not giving notice is simply this: the manager was a total jerk and would have abused me had I told him I wanted to resign. I plan on mailing back the uniform and sending in a letter of resignation at some stage if I don't officially get fired before then (not that I care in the slightest). My question is (excuse my stupidity): can they sue me or something for not turning up to the work without any notice? I really don't care about the pay or anything else, I just quite simply DO NOT want to ever see or hear about that place again. I'm trying to pretend I was never employed there, even for a very short amount of time.
Leaving aside how unethical it was to quit without informing them, could there be any legal ramifications?
