Why does my heart do this when I'm starting my period?

My heart beats really fast when I am starting my period (even when I'm not aware I am starting at that moment)

I won't even know that I'm beginning my period, and It will start beating like crazy, but then it goes away after the first couple minutes of beginning. Why??

Maybe it's working to have more blood in that area if you know what i mean, so it's beaitng harder/faster.

I don't know. The first answerer's answer doesn't quite make sense... maybe you should mention it to your doctor.
