this company has told me for 8 weeks now that i have a job, but still have not yet hired me, there waiting on a background check. my question is why would a company lie to a person like this, isnt easier just to say the truth at this point? do you think this is some kind of practical joke? i guess my question is what are the reasons they would be doing this??

I need help with my hair that was overprocessed when getting highlights done with bleach. I know hair that is burned and broken off can't be helped but what do I do to regrow my hair? I know it takes time but how do I condition it and what should I do or eat to promote new hair growth? I have researched this over and over and need some answers please. Thanks

Three major questions giving rise to religion have been "Why are we here," "What is the purpose of life" and "Who put us here?" To me, all of these questions are inaccurately stated because they strongly imply that 1) there IS some objective reason that we are here, 2) that there is some objective purpose or 3) that some entity with some degree of ability consciously decided to "put" us in this land, on this planet, in this universe. This, of course, potentially leaves the answerer with three (of many) options: 1) refute the structure of the question and its assumptions, 2) answer with "I don't know" or 3) admitting that some supernatural entity must have something to do with it.

Clearly, these questions could be more accurately stated to reflect the lack of necessity for an objective purpose or creator. It seems to me that there would be a common term for this kind of question. Is there a philosophical term or another term to describe what type of fallacy these questions represent?

Question is, I would like to open an account for my son so he can get a jump in life unlike myself . The problem we seem to have is an extremely dominating mother and grandmother who want to not only destroy me but my son. Perhaps you've realized that the self-knowledge you've gained so far, comes in pieces, sort of like a progression of steps. When you gain a new insight, you see things you didn't see before. You kind of know you are in a valley and can't see the hilltops above you, yet you know they exist, because of your climbing. So you might know you are in a kind of blind state, but also you know you have your truth - as that which you last received as an insight.

So we know that to keep growing and not get stuck clinging to our truth, we have to keep challenging it. How do you 'personally' use your last insight in regards to your self-knowledge, to keep yourself open to receiving new information?

Right now, today, do you have an outstanding essential question (meaning regarding yourself - not other people)?

If so, might you share that here? Perhaps you could also list what your last 'aha' or insight was, and how this self-knowledge might help you to rise another step?

Here lies a baseball fan after suffering for 31 years as a Cubs fan, 2 baseball strikes and steroid scandal.

I don't know about you guys but I quit baseball. I'm finished baseball is over for me. My favorite player is a fraud, my favorite sport is a fraud.

At least my wife will be happy that I won't spend so much time watching baseball anymore.

I switched jobs this yr and made only a small amount this yr compared to other yrs. It will be around 20 thousand. I have two kids and I am married filing jointly. I have been claiming 9 since June of this yr so not much has come out in taxes. I have always gotten back a refund in the past making almost 3 times as much as this yr. I will obviously be elligible for the EIC this yr but since I have not paid in much for taxes will I get back anything. I also have mortgage interest that I can deduct, do I get to do that along with the EIC or can I only do one or the other? I am kinda worried I might have to pay in even though that seems unlikely since I made so little and have 2 kids. Does anyone know what I might expect when tax time rolls around?

there is this boy at my school that isnt what you would regularly call hot or cute. but i feel a really strong connetction between us. i have never talked to him before but i can tell he feels the same when he looks at me.
