Ok so given that we are about 2000 years out in the christian faith and given that this religion has evolved considerably over that time, what will it be like in 20,000 years? If, say in 20,000 years, Christ has not returned and there is no rapture - where would that leave christianity?
I ask this question also thinking about the history of human endeavour - during the 2000 years of christianity, only the last 400 or so (since galileo really) has any real alternative* been available. And only in the last 100 years has this alternative been potent. In the last 30 years things have hotted up and now every day, science is forging a brave new world while christianity is still trying to answer the same question it was millenia ago.
Will christianity be able to compete or is it doomed to eventual failure?
See if you can answer this question thinking far into the future - not just here and now.
(Quoting scripture is pointless here - tell me what *you* think, not what the bible says!)
