A puck of mass 86.7 g and radius 3.73 cm slides along an air table at a speed of v = 1.53 m/s. It makes a glancing collision with a second puck of radius 5.12 cm and mass 120 g (initially at rest) such that their rims just touch. The pucks stick together and spin after the collision

'48900. A pupil may not be suspended from school or recommended for expulsion, unless the superintendent or the principal of the school in which the pupil is enrolled determines that the pupil has committed an act as defined pursuant to any of subdivisions (a) to (q), inclusive:
(a) (1) Caused, attempted to cause, or threatened to cause
physical injury to another person.
(2) Willfully used force or violence upon the person of another, except in self-defense.'

Well, I am specifically referring to part 2. Does that part mean that a person CANNOT being suspended at school for self-defense???

We all know that The Cubs haven't won a WS in 99 years.
Before the white sox won in 2005, it had been 88 years. If it takes another 88 years for the white sox to win, can The Cubbies win one before then?

Professor Li Chung Yun was considered the oldest man of our century. The London Times (May 8, 1933) reported his death at the age of 256 years. Records found in China show he was born in 1677.
Professor Yun died with all his own teeth and hair. Those who knew him say that he looked about 50 when he was already over 200. He outlived 23 wives and had 11 generations of descendents during his lifetime.

If some sort of plague or other incident wiped out everyone around you and you couldn't find a trace of humanity by searching or radioing or the Internet, there would be a number of things to keep in mind. Where would you go and what would you do?

As an instance of one of the lesser-thought of issues, how close do you presently live to any nuclear reactors? In the event of a catastrophe that removed all other humans, that reactor would essentially be in a final countdown-stage until meltdown (unless you and you alone knew how to shut it down safely, of course). So you probably wouldn't want to stick around near any cities that have nuclear power. Staying too close to any nuclear stockpiles might not be so good, either - if any one of the bombs goes haywire and the detonation device triggers via a malfunction at some point decades down the road, you'd be critter toast.

So there are some examples of possible issues. What would -you- do first? Where would you go?

Hi all

I've got a problem with my combi-boiler

When cold the boiler is at about 1 bar. But when hot (65C) it shoots up to 3.5/4 bar. The red line is at 2.5 bar so I'm guessing this isn't a good thing?

This is a fairly old boiler.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help.

Steve

Anyone here seen them?

I’ve written a novel and need some info on arrest procedure. The fictional town is a college town in Western Maryland and the college has around three, four thousand people, the town proper maybe another two or three thousand. The sticks. The man is arrested for a fight in which it appears that he was trying to throw someone out a three-story window. He is caught in the act and hauled away by police.

Would he be advised his Miranda rights there and then, after he was dragged off the victim; would they cuff him right there?
