If you see some people throwing things on the beach you can write to Deniz Temiz Association, Turmepa.

Yes, I do...a lot!!! As a surfer, me and my friends do everything to keep our homeground beach clean! Many years ago, surfing wasn't so popular then, we were only about 30 surfers on that beach! Except for the wood that reached the shore, it used to be a clean beach, and we used to burn the wood. About ten years ago, surfing became a boom and too many people came and left their trash. We got very angry. We put up signs to clean the beach, didn't help much! Then we started organizing contests and made sure that everyone helped to clean up the beach afterwards. People slowly got the message and even became afraid of leaving the trash as we were telling them off! Today we regularly organize events to keep our beach clean and it works! The other day, I even read in a magazine that our beach has become famous for keeping it clean by locals and there was a warning that noone should leave their trash!

My beach has too many tourists coming in every single day. It's so hard to clean it and especially since it's a very crowded beach. I always clean up after myself and never leave any garbage behind. It makes me mad though, when I go to a beach and they don't even have the will to put out trash cans on the beach.

In yalikavak bodrum, I am often annoyed at finding greek rubbish like empty yoghurt cans, pet bottles, etc. I think there has to be an agreement between us to ban the dumping of trash in the sea.
