My mom got a new wireless router that I am setting up for her. Set-up is Cable Modem, plus a desktop, plus the wireless router for her laptops. The desktop doesn't have a nic card (i took it and havent ever brought it back yet) however she has a linksys usb thing that converts the end of a cat5 cable into a usb.. (if that makes sense... sorry was up all night doing turkey- no sleep) Anyways that is busted and doesn't work well- and always comes lose and ends up being a disaster. SO MY QUESTION- Can I take the cable modem- and use the USB plug on the back of it and connect it to the desktop and at the same time use the cat plug in the back of it and hook that up with the wireless router? When I tried it- the laptop shows that is see's the netgear router and is connected- but can't connect to anything with the laptop. Im connected to the web w/ the desktop- so that part is working- also if i open a browser on the desktop and try to log into the router i get cannot find server

i had only met my father a couple of times when i was younger. he has a family with other children which is understandable. he has called me a couple of times with empty promises and then i wont hear from him again until another year or so. what is his problem why cant he make up his mind on whether he wants me in his life or not. i know i should maybe forget about him but in a way i feel that i shouldnt

We have the motar in the foundation of our house that is slowly falling out. What can we used to fill the small gaps? They are for cinder blocks that are in good condition, however the cement in between is decaying. We've never had to replace or repair something like this. Any recommendation?

I've noticed that some people, when talking to other people, tend to go right up to that other person's nose. It gets to the point where you have to keep stepping backwards from the other person and you find the two of us walking in circles as he or she steps closer to you and you continually step away! Why do some people need to be so close to someone when having a conversation?

I'm planning on making a geodesic globe for a art class. I'm likely going to do a 320 sided version, as the next biggest one is 1280 sides (correct me if i'm wrong on that). But i need to figure out what size to cut the triangles, is there a basic formula to figure it out? If it helps, i'm likely going to go for something basketball sized or the same size as a standard globe, since i'll likely use one as a shell and cover it with the triangles.

I need to be able to use a laptop and internet from remote rural sites where there is not cell phone service. Dish Network has satellite service, but requires a satellite be mounted on my pickup and then I would have to adjust the dish to receive from the satellite at each location. I would prefer something where I could login quickly. Thanks

In the episode "The Show Must Go On" Carter in the end walks in to the trama room, talks about Mark Greene making every intern fill out a letter to themselves for the future and then walks out of the trama room where Nela, Abby and the other guy are filling out charts, and he hears four voices in his head.
The first voice says
"One day you will look up and maybe ah 10 years would've past"
The Second says
"Carter, you're going to make a good doctor"
The third one says
"Carter you got to hurry it up, you've got a million things to do"
The fourth one says
"You set the tone, Carter"

My question is who says the first and third lines. I know that Peter Benton says the second one, and that Mark Greene says the last one. The third one I THINK is Carol Hathaway but im not sure....so if anyone is an ER fan, please leave a comment, or anything you want to say about ER pro/con.

Someone recently brought arsenic into the debate, so I want to expand on that. Hopefully I will not be reported for a violation, again. I know I run the risk, since I am challenging the dogma.

Here is my premise. Isn't it true that if we drink water with tiny amounts of arsenic in it, the arsenic will gradually build up in our system and we will die? The arsenic is a poison to our system. Lets assume I purposefully drop small amounts into someone's morning coffee, every day. If they die in a month of arsenic poison, the police would charge me with murder.

How does this compare to global warming? Well, the AGW crowd tells us that human use of fossil fuels creates vast quantities of CO2 that is the primary cause of global warming. Further we are supposed to believe that global warming is bad now and accelerating at an alarming pace. Eventually, the earth will be uninhabitable. In effect, burning fossil fuels is killing future generations.

Three men were standing in line to get into heaven one day. Apparently it had been a pretty busy day, though, so St. Peter had to tell the first one, "Heaven's getting pretty close to full today, and I've been asked to admit only people who have had particularly horrible deaths. So what's your story?"

The first man replies: "Well, for a while I've suspected my wife has been cheating on me, so today I came home early to try to catch her red-handed. As I came into my 25th floor apartment, I could tell something was wrong, but all my searching around didn't reveal where this other guy could have been hiding. Finally, I went out to the balcony, and sure enough, there was this man hanging off the railing, 25 floors above ground! By now I was really mad, so I started beating on him and kicking him, but wouldn't you know it, he wouldn't fall off. So finally I went back into my apartment and got a hammer and starting hammering on his fingers. Of course, he couldn't stand that for long, so he let go and fell-but even after 25 stories, he fell into the bushes, stunned but okay. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I ran into the kitchen, grabbed the fridge, and threw it over the edge where it landed on him, killing him instantly. But all the stress and anger got to me, and I had a heart attack and died there on the balchoy."

"That sounds like a pretty bad day to me," said Peter, and let the man in.

The second man comes up and Peter explains to him about heaven being full, and again asks for his story.

"It's been a very strange day. You see, I live on the 26th floor of my apartment building, and every morning I do my exercises out on my balcony. Well, this morning I must have slipped or something, because I fell over the edge. But I got lucky, and caught the railing of the balcony on the floor below me. I knew I couldn't hang on for very long, when suddenly this man burst out onto the balcony. I thought for sure I was saved, when he started beating on me and kicking me. I held on the best I could until he ran into the apartment and grabbed a hammer and started pounding on my hands. Finally I just let go, but again I got lucky and fell into the bushes below, stunned but all right. Just when I was thinking I was going to be okay, this refrigerator comes falling out of the sky and crushes me instantly, and now I'm here."

Once again, Peter had to concede that that sounded like a pretty horrible death.

The third man came to the front of the line, and St. Peter asked for his story.

"Picture this," says the third man, "I'm hiding naked inside a refrigerator..."

I spend about 10 days each month in another city because of my job. I got a girlfriend there. But then I began to feel lonely at home and got another girl where i live. I told that to both of them and said that despite I ´d feel jealous, they were free to date other guys in my absence, as long as they had sefe sex. Is that immoral? Am I a jerk? Personally, if both relationships are satisfying to man and woman I don´t see a problem.
