eating a piece of fruit for a meal isn't going to get you any closer to a six pack, far to low in calories and nutrients in general.

if you are going to use powdered protein supplements to replace a meal then you need to get a blended protein powder. something from Met-Rx or Muscle Milk would be perfect. they contain both milk and egg proteins which make for a very slowly digesting protein supplement with a very pronounced anti-catabolic effect. which is exactly what you want when on a reduced caloric diet when the goal is fat loss and the preservation of muscle.

the body is an an extreme catabolic state in the morning as cortisol levels are high and blood sugar and insulin levels are low. high intensity exercise performed in this state with out sufficient calories is extremely catabolic. building muscle and losing body fat is ALL about manipulating the endocrine system through diet and exercise

Not good. You're missing out on all the other stuff you need. If there's one meal that should be big, it's breakfast.

Eating a healthy breakfast is important to losing weight, because it helps set your metabolism high for the rest of the day. Without a good breakfast your body goes into starvation mode, your metabolism drops, and the next time you eat your body will gain more fat.

You should be having some dairy, protein, grains, and fruits or vegetables every morning. A combination of all of those is ideal.

Maybe you could have an apple, a bowl of whole-grain cereal and some eggs. Go ahead and have a protein shake, but you should definitely have some other stuff as well, especially some carbs.

Carbohydrates are the best fuel for training because they take less oxygen to burn than protein or fat.

I have 3 shakes a day to help me gain weight. I'm one of those guys. Always have had 6 pack abs. I'm 6'4" tall and 163lbs. At 31 years young I'd like to be closer to 200. Protein shake in my opinion will not really hurt you, so long you exercise it off.

Simple rule of thumb. More output and less input, whereas I'm trying more input and less output. This means consume less and workout or exercise more. Still continue to eat healthy have smaller portion meals more frequently. Instead of 3 huge meals. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) have 1/2 your breakfast at 8am then the other 1/2 at 10am. Do the same with lunch and dinner. Don't eat after 8pm. You don't want to become a GREMLIN. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator while Christmas shopping this year. Recommended daily allowance is 2000-2500 calories. My protein shakes give me 1,250 calories per shake at 3 a day will give me 3,750 then having regular meals throughout the day will give me about 5000-6000 calories per day. I saw explosive results 10 years ago while in the USNAVY. I gained 32 lbs in 8 months. Remember muscle weighs more than fat so your actual weight may only change alittle bit however your physical appearance may transform completely.
