Why do liberal activist groups protest Thanksgiving?

Seattle school officials are telling teachers that Thanksgiving actually is a time of “mourning” since it represents “500 years of betrayal.”

The message to all “staff” in the Seattle Public Schools comes from Caprice D. Hollins, the director of “Equity, Race & Learning Support,” and other officials including Willard Bill Jr. of the “Office of Native American Education.”

“With so many holidays approaching we want to again remind you that Thanksgiving can be a particularly difficult time for many of our Native students,” the letter said.

The school letter refers educators to a website, Oyate, run by an outside organization that promotes Indian culture, and recommends teachers explore it.

“Here you will discover ways to help you and your students think critically, and find resources where you can learn about Thanksgiving from a Native American perspective,” the letter said.

if you think a liberal group like PETA doesn't protest Thanksgiving, I have a hard time believing you can survive on your own on this planet.

Be careful now. I asked a somewhat similar question yesterday and some liberal idiot had it deleted. You know the kind, the ones that go on and on about freedom of speech and then turn around and deny that very same freedom to those who disagree with them.
In answer to your question, liberals hate America. They hate the way America was founded, making up garbage about the early founders and colonists. "They stole the land from the Indians!" they screech.
Liberals have got to be the most unhappy people in the world, hating the very land of their birth. What miserable people indeed.

I though it was good but I'd never heard of any such Indian problem wq/ Turkey day.

i was vegan but also was a vegetarian for 3 years and i have a little problem with peta. i think animals should be treated correctly and not put through so much pain but they are seriously crazy. thanksgiving shouldnt be about what we eat, it should be our culture and tradition, which is seriously being destroying in america. we need to stop worrying about the liberals taking away our turkey and start worrying abouut the taking away our american traditions.

Because Thanksgiving is about America, and giving thanks to God. Both of these subjects are taboo to the Democrats and Liberal Activist. If anything is bad for America, it is celebrated by the Leftist, if it celebrates our values, then it must be stopped at all costs. These Turkeys are bred to be eaten. They have the smarts bred out of them and wouldn't make good pets. Turkeys are so dumb that they will stand outside in the rain and drown themselves to death (the domestic ones).
