How is it possible that people can buy into the ridiculous idea that the Catholic Church didn't begin until after 300 AD?

Christ’s Church is Catholic. Catholic comes from a compound of two Greek words: “kato” = according to, and “holos” = the one. Christ’s Church is for all, and all are one: the Body of Christ. It is like speaking the name “Jesus”: Christ’s name was Yeshua, not Jesus. But we say Jesus because it came to us through the Greek language, which is what the New Testament was written in. The same goes for the word “catholic”.

Was Christ’s Church hierarchical? Yes. He chose twelve apostles, made Peter the leader, and gave them authorities that all the other disciples did not have. Later, in the book of Acts, the hierarchy develops further. The apostles appoint Deacons (greek - diakonos / διάκονος ), Priests (greek - presbyteros / πρεσβυτερος ), and Bishops (greek - episkopos / επίσκοπος ), and each have different duties. It is the same today in the Catholic Church

blonde, wanting to earn some money, decided to hire herself out as a handyman-type and started canvassing a wealthy neighborhood. She went to the front door of the first house and asked the owner if he had any jobs for her to do.

"Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?"
The blonde said, "How about 50 dollars?" The man agreed and told her that the paint and ladders that she might need were in the garage. The man's wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, "Does she realize that the porch goes all the way around the house?"
The man replied, "She should. She was standing on the porch."

A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money.
"You're finished already?" he asked. "Yes," the blonde answered, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats. "Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50. "And by the way," the blonde added, "that's not a Porch, it's a Ferrari."

I'd like to know how does a film end up costing $100 million dollars. Like Spider-Man 3 was rumuoured to cost $300 million, Pirates of the caribbean 3 was $200 million and Transformers cost $150 million. Who sets the budgets, who gets paid and where is the money allocated to?

I mean, how do the studios not go broke?

Yes, this sounds extremely depressing, perhaps pessimistic. However, the experience I have been through are in correlation with the specific words I have just used.

When a guy tells you..

“you b*tch”
“you’re psycho”
“you’re a baby.. stop your crying, I do not want to hear it”
“you’re worthless”

They say to just ‘ignore it’ or the phrase “..words will never hurt”. Words do hurt, and it has affected my self-esteem.

And it has affected my thinking towards men.
I do not trust them at all.

The only male figure in my life I can trust 100% is my father.

met this girl and she texts me at least 8 times or more a day. Its the first girl I have dated since my breakup a year or so ago. She's really nice, sweet etc... but I feel like its a bit much. When stamps went up from 39 cents to 41 cents, the post office wouldn't buy back my partial books of stamps. Why not? I had two books of the same and I could have combined them to make over a complete book. I should have just filled in the blanks and they wouldn't have noticed. Anyone do that too?

Decided to start a diet tomoz by eating 2 piece of fruit for breakfast a day, a sandwich and some snack a jacks 4 lunch and a bowl of soup for dinner.

If an alcoholic stops drinking, s/he spends the rest of her/his life as a "recovering alcoholic".

Since I was raised as a Christian, but am no longer, does that make me a "Recovering Christian"? Or would that title still make me a Christian?

I'm an atheist, but I am curious as to how everyone else processes this, so all are welcome to answer.
