When stamps went up from 39 cents to 41 cents, the post office wouldn't buy back my partial books of stamps. Why not? I had two books of the same and I could have combined them to make over a complete book. I should have just filled in the blanks and they wouldn't have noticed. Anyone do that too?

Nobody buys back products that they have already sold, just because the price of the replacement goes up. Why would they?

Especially when it's so easy to just buy a book of 2-cent stamps.

Umm...you just buy 2 cent stamps and put one of each on the envelope.

No, I did not try that because I have a brain.

Its a dumb idea. Just buy the necessary make-up stamps.

I actually found myself in line behind some idiot at the post office who was trying to get the clerk to refund his old stamps. Claimed they were no good anymore and he was being cheated.
