In addition to turkey and ham...we do pheasant on Thanksgiving day. Also did a capon one year.
Most unusual Thanksgiving meal we ever had...when I was in high school. My mom was a nurse and one Thanksgiving she was stuck working a double shift at the hospital. It was about 75 degrees outside so my Dad the night before bought steaks. We had steaks, baked potatoes, salad, and garlic bread that Thanksgiving. In fact...we invited our elderly neighbor over to join us...he was unable to visit his family that year. He said it was the best meal ever.

Ice Cream Jell-O:
1 Large Box Strawberry Jell-O
1 Box Frozen Strawberries
½ Gallon Vanilla Ice Cream (you’ll only use half of this)
Directions:
Let ice cream thaw until it looks like milk. Boil 2 cups water and add jell-o mix. Stir well. Mix in ice cream. Add in frozen strawberries. Refrigerate 5 hours.
***After 5 hours, there will magically be 2 layers, one of ice cream and one of jello. (both will have the berries in them!!!
