Hi everyone. Here's the problem: my wife is doing a MSc course at the University of Manchester. She's got many, many questions about a particular course so she sent way too many emails to the lecturer. The lecturer, after a while, got fed up with the number of emails and said he would not reply any more emails from her. I also work for the University and I was thinking: should I send him an email thanking him for the support and apologising for the trouble my wife gave him? I think it might be a good idea for him to know she is not alone and to avoid resentments towards her because he would know her husband (hello!) is a colleague. What do you think? Is it wise to do so? I wouldn't want him to be harsh or to keep resentments towards her for the rest of the course. He has not shown any so far. Anyway, could you give me your opinion? Should I send the email or not?

Congratulations to Her Majesty for 60 years marriage. My parents are 50 years married in May next year. Divorce is 'too simple' now... the younger generations seem to treat marriage with distain. They tie-the-knot , then seperate very soon after. The commitment just isn't there for whatever reasons.

.....four of them just busted in my house wearing t-shirts proclaiming "Eat the other White Meat". They are on a rescue mission demanding to see Big Tom. Two of the big turkey's are carrying sacks yelling "Fill it up with all the trimmings!"

Here's a list of temperatures from NASA. I just don't see where the warming is.

From this data it looks like there was more warming in the 1920's - 1940's.

And it was just as warm in the 1930's as it is today.

So what is all the panic about?

They're 2 and 4. I gave them some Ibuprofen and they are supposed to see the doctor later on today (I couldn't get a morning appointment).

In the meantime, what else can I do for them? They're pitiful. :(

so my parents beat me the olny place i feel safe is at school, i cant take another punch in the face or another burn from a cigarette. it hurts my bf is the only one who makes me feel safe, but he doesnt know about the abuse and i rather him not know but thats not even the worst part, the worst part is im pregnant, o and im only 15!!! so now i have to get examined for my babys sake and i dont want the doctors to take my baby away cuz of my screwed up parents!! As an Englishman and successful businessman I feel I must ask this. I have several Americans on my books and as Thanksgiving is fast approaching many have asked to celebrate. Now, bearing in mind my profit margin should I let them leave half-an-hour early on Thursday or maybe serve chicken soup for lunch as a treat?

Do you do that with other things too? I don't believe in Zeus or that Muhammd was right or that evolution is true, but I don't constantly campaign against those things. They are just not issues in my life. Why spend so much time debating something you think isn't true?

Note: I'm not saying you do not have a right to talk about these things. I'm perfectly fine with you being here and having your beliefs, I just don't see why you talk so much about things you don't believe. I don't believe in Zeus so I wont waste an hour of my life talking about Zeus with people. But many of you are here day after day, I just don't see why.
