Do you do that with other things too? I don't believe in Zeus or that Muhammd was right or that evolution is true, but I don't constantly campaign against those things. They are just not issues in my life. Why spend so much time debating something you think isn't true?

Note: I'm not saying you do not have a right to talk about these things. I'm perfectly fine with you being here and having your beliefs, I just don't see why you talk so much about things you don't believe. I don't believe in Zeus so I wont waste an hour of my life talking about Zeus with people. But many of you are here day after day, I just don't see why.

You say, "I don't believe in Zeus or that Muhammd was right or that evolution is true, but I don't constantly campaign against those things."

Do you know why that is? Because you are not having beliefs or issues that are caused by those beliefs shoved down your throat daily. That is why those things don't matter to you. Lets say that Muslim's become the majority in this country. Because they are in the majority, lets say that they influence the government until government officials decide to implement Sharia law. Now you are having their beliefs forced upon you in the form of laws. Do you think you would have issues with it then? You don't see how your beliefs effect us on a daily basis. It isn't good enough for Christians to just live their live and not have abortions, but you all try to pass laws that say we are not allowed to have this procedure done. It isn't against our morals. Why should we have to live according to yours? A lot of atheist are not opposed to gays getting married, but because of the religious, it is not possible. Do not claim that marriage is a religious only ceremony. It isn't. I could get married tomorrow by a justice of the peace and it would have no religious influence what so ever. Why is it not good enough for Christian pastors or ministers to just refuse to allow gays to marry in their church? Why must you force your belief, which is that gays getting married is wrong, on the rest of us? I could go on and on citing situations where Christian morals and beliefs are forced on non-Christians and this is why it pisses us off so much. Look at the Amish. They have very strong religious beliefs, yet force them on no one. When is the last time you heard of Amish voting to get rid of vehicles so we were all forced to ride in horse and buggies. They live according to their beliefs and let other live according to theirs. If Christians were more like this, they would not suffer half the criticism that they do now. Do you understand better? If so, spread the word because we will all be better off for it.

I found your question to be very interesting, especially because you seem to ask quite a few questions yourself about Atheists. You may not waste an hour of your life talking about Zeus, but you do take time out to make jabs at Atheists. Go look in a mirror and maybe you will find the answer to your own question.

People who believe in Zeus are not trying to run the world according to the word of Zeus. If Suddenly the Zeus believers were using Zeus in your pledge of allegiance you might think different. Imagine, "America, One Nation United, by Zeus!"

If believers in Zeus were knocking on my door trying to convert me, standing in shopping malls harassing those of differing beliefs, trying to legislate Zeus' rules into law, I'd talk about the lack of credible evidence that Zeus exists. As it is, I have to play with the Christians.

Probably for the same reason you ask questions about atheists.

Quest for knowledge...

I do believe that religion exists, and I am aware that (like politics, with which it goes hand in hand) it has affected nearly every aspect of life on Earth. Right now we have 3 religious sects (Christians, Jews and Muslims) standing on the brink of what they literally believe to be 'armageddon' while they publicly defame homosexuals/lesbians, other faiths, and atheists.

Many of them are killing each other AND bystanders in the name of their 'god's' so-called 'laws.'

That interests me.

So does that fact that someone could run for office in Texas if they believed in Zeus, but not if they were an atheist.

Go figure. Of course, you can accept it from the horse's mouth, or believe what 'peanut' says. Which was basically an insulting rant against atheists in general because they don't follow her faith. This also interests me! I'm hooked!

PS You stated: "I'm perfectly fine with you being here and having your beliefs"

Why thankyou, kind Sir, orfuly gracious of you (curtsey)! ;-)

"They are just not issues in my life. "
That sentence says it all. God and religion always seems to find a way into our life, so they become issues. Would you support prayer in school if students had to pray for Zeus? No, because you don't believe in him. Would you have something to say about that? I'm sure you would.

Maybe if you have people pushing for Zeus prayer at schools, lightning bolts at the court house or people profiting from Zeus churches without paying any taxes you'd mind talking about it.

The Atheists are realist based on facts not fiction.
We don't lie to get people to belief in our religion and to give us money.
The educated belief in FACTS.
Just look at all the war that's going on because of religion.
Those aholes can't get alone and respect other's belief especially the Jews, Christians, and Muslims.

If they want to fight for their religion, they should do it and get it over with.
Let's have the non-religious move away from Iraq for a year.
Get all the religious fool together in Iraq and fight to the death.
The last person standing will be the only religion in the world. LOL

I'm a Christian, but I think that atheists simply retaliate against the condemnation that they often receive at the hands of very IGNORANT and thoughtless people who profess Christianity but can't mind their own business!

I can't even **imagine** criticizing anyone on the basis of their religious belief (or lack thereof), since doing so would be as abjectly idiotic as it would be to criticize a person based on his handedness or eye color. Religious beliefs of a person are NO one else's business!
