Give them something warm to drink, like decaf tea, or some all natural popcicles to soothe their throats.
Pile them up with some blankets and their favorite cartoons, and tell them you love them.
Its probably a virus- but watch for rash's on their trunks- this would be a sign of strep. Viruses cant be drugged, they just have to work themselves out. It'll be okay.

For sore throat give something warm and brothy. No lumpy stuff. Fever, just keep checking the temperature about an 1 hour or 2 and it should go down. Also, switch medicine between Ibuprofen and Tylenol or Motrin. Have them lay down to sleep so that way their body can recover quickly.
Don't worry about it if their fever is below 102. Eventually it will go down.

When my children were little the doctor always said dimetapp for them. And childrens tylenol. Keep them in bed & if they eat feed them chicken noodle soup. Try to time the next dose of ibuprofen so they will be due again while they are at the doctors office. I used to take my kids in to the doctor & by the time I got them there their fever was gone( fevers tend to go up late at nite & down during the day)so I looked silly when the tylenol had worked and reduced the fever by the time I got them to the doctor.
It is that time of year and children have to have colds & flu's to build immunity to them, as they age they will not catch every cold going around since their immune system will fight more of them off.

Give them plenty of clear fluids, keep them warm, and lots of quiet activities, reading, sing them songs, let them watch a favourite dvd, etc.
Make sure they get plenty of rest, try them with soft, plain foods, but don't stress if they don't feel like eating.
If there's time for another dose later on, try giving them some paracetamol. I find it works just as well as ibuprofen for the pain, and it actually lowers the fever better.
Just try and keep them happy, quiet and hydrated, lots of kisses and cuddles, and let them sleep as much as they want! Maybe try some popsicles or something if their throats are too sore, but stay away from dairy as much as you can in case they have throat infections.
Good luck, I'm sure they'll be just fine, and I hope they're feeling better soon. And try to get some rest yourself if you're feeling too frazzled!

The four year old might be able to gargle salt water if he or she can understand they have to spit it back out. It helps my kids. The 2 year old is probably too young. Till then, give him or her some tea with lemon in it. DON"T give any of them honey because even though honey helps a sore throat, it can have botulism bacteria in it that can be deadly. Not worth the risk.
If nothing else, give them things like popcicles or cool pops to suck on. Hard candy works for my older ones, but the risk of choking to a little one is too great, even the four year old. Lukewarm chicken broth might help too.
Good luck to your little ones. I hope they feel better soon.

give them a Popsicle that are in the plastic wrap. the cold will help the soar throat and put fever down. good luck on the wait of doc. if really bad go to doc as soon as it opens and sit there. the noise of your kids will prompt them to take your kids in early. I've done that and it worked.

My son just got over a fever, I know it's awful, and you feel like there's nothing you can do. Just keep them as comfortable as possible, and make sure they get plenty of fluids. I let my son break all the rules when he's sick, he gets to watch tv all day and eat popsicles (the juice ones, not the sugary ones).

Rub some vicks on their tummies or put some eucalyptis oil in boiling water so they breath the steam.

in addition to all of the help above... try a humidifier... it puts more water(humidity) into the air and can help soothe their throats, especially when they are sleeping...
