not enough calories or nutrients. you will lose only water weight by restricting your calories so much. you will gain all of the weight back once you return back to normal eating patterns.

I am a bodybuilder and so diets are my speciality and there's nothing that shifts fat quicker than low/good carb diets with lots of protien. (And some cardio exercize of course)

The most important thing in regards to lowering body fat, is reducing sugar, salt, refined carbs and saturated fat from your diet. Fruit actually contains a lot of sugar (albeit natural - it still gives you a sugar rush which when lowers leaves a desire for more sugar) so I would opt for vegetables over fruit. Not for brekkie obviously.

A good fibre breakfast cereal will give your metabolism a kick up the jacksy. Bran Flakes or Porridge, that sort of thing. If you can bare it use skimmed milk and if you need to use sugar substitute it for low cal sweeteners. Once or twice a week you could have 1 slice of wholemeal bread with 2 poached eggs or 2 scrambled eggs if you prefer. A slice of ham or grilled bacon wouldn't hurt you either.

Lunch is when you could get a nice dose of vegetables. A juicy chicken/tuna/cottage cheese salad followed by a yoghurt. Or if you prefer to have your heavier meal in at lunch, then you could swap it around with dinner... But you should have at least one carb free meal a day, if you would like to lose weight and perhaps get a little definition.

Dinner, you can push the boat out here and have some brown rice or pasta or a jacket potatoe with lean meat and again vegtables/salad. Try to limit sauces, salt makes you retain water, excess water means more weight. Also, watch portion size here, I tend to weigh mine. No more than 75-100 grams (depending on level of exercize that day) of rice/pasta and potatoe no more than 150 grams.

Drink LOADS of water as funnily enough it helps flush other water out and also keeps the metabolism kicking over. If you must snack, try and have something like rice cakes, oat based cereal bars or a yoghurt.

Lastly, I pressume that you plan to do some exercize to accompany your diet? 30 minutes cardio at least 3 times a week will help burn the calories. More if you can manage. Remember, if you ain't sweating, you ain't burning! Sounds pretty serious but weight loss is serious! Its hard work! So get to it solider and good luck!!!!

Would start the day with Weetabix or Porridge with semi skimmed milk & sweetner.

Only use wholemeal bread for sandwich, becareful of what goes on sandwich especially if a bought prepack, might be better off with cup a soup for lunch, and for dinner grilled chicken or fish with veg. And have fruit as snacks.

Good luck.

Not much...

If you don't ingest enough calories for your body to 'tick over', your metabolism goes into 'starvation mode' and shuts down so you need even fewer calories to tick over!

You need to check your BMI to see how much you need to lose; then eat sensibly.

You should eat your biggest meal at breakfast - you've got all day to work it off - plus it'll give your metabolism the jolt it needs to get it into action.

Never been able to face it myself - but the perfect breakfast for speedy weight loss is supposed to be 1 ounce of cheese and an orange... apparently the cheese gives you the protein to start your metabolism burning calories and the orange provides the important fibre to keep your innards working efficiently.

I prefer a marmalade lashinged piece of toast with my second, of three, mugs of tea... maybe that's why I'm such a "large lady"?

diet is a bad word... literally...

first of all, you NEVER want to deprive yourself of protein
people who dont eat protein for breakfast and then start show a significant improvement in how the feel during the day, they also crash less often
yogurt has some protein in it, but probably not enough by itself
you're looking to lose weight... start by taking the amount of food you eat in one day, lay it on the counter, divide it into 5 meal instead of 3...
people who eat 5 smaller meals lose more weight than those that eat 3 larger meals... after you do this, you can alter the foods you eat, eliminating the unhealthier foods, such as mayo and bacon

Where's the protein in this diet? You'd be better with a piece of meat or fish with your lunch or dinner. Protein helps keep you satisfied as well as being essential.

Sounds good to me. You'll be averaging around 1000 calories a day, which means you'll lose about 2 lbs of fat a week if you stick to it. Good luck.
