I'm talking about an animal with a defined digestive tract (i.e., not unicellular) that can ingest food from either end and excrete waste from either end. If such a thing hasn't evolved (which I can't imagine it hasn't, so many other odd things have), would it be workable in a synthetic organism if you make an organism that needs to eat/excrete certain things? If so, what would work best as far as the kinds of things such an organism should eat/excrete?

Just curious. Very curious. About some of the darndest things. ;-)

Is there any morality or ethics in a ruler who sends people to Hell for anything but the most horrific crimes?

Isn't that like holding a gun to a person's head and saying, "Do what I command and I'll let you live, don't do it and I will blow your brains out - but you have freewill and you can do whatever you want and I'll feel really bad about having to shot you."

What do you think?

Granted.
There are alot of very screwed up, irresponsible people out there. And some of them do smoke marjijuana.

But there are alot of people like me. Who smoke weed on a daily basis.. Are still happy contributing memebers of society. Hold great jobs, Have happy familys, drive nice trucks..

and the fact that i smoke, only makes me a happier more accepting relaxed person.

Yet so many people, especially on here,
talk crap, or judge me. or call me names.

but the thing of it is..

i dont pass judgement on you guys.. for any reason.

And i have lived the sober life. After college i was sober for several years.

I have decided since i am settled and successful and i family man. that i can smoke again. So i do. Everday.

But none of you have been in my shoes.. so how can you pass judgement on me

I am proud of my choice to be vegan and support animal rights, but there are times when I just get really ticked off when people joke about it or even try to defend animal cruelty as if its ok. My dad is one of them and most of my family makes joke about meat and animals. I usually just ignore it, but sometimes they try to get me involved in their jokes and it becomes tiring trying to constantly explain to family + friends about why i make the choices to eat and buy differently.

while i wish everyone were not so ignorant to this kind of stuff, it seems like almost all non-vegetarians are disrespectful and don't understand! what is ur experience with this, because i know most veg people have to deal with this, and how do you do so. thanks

hi im 16 grade 11 live in ontario canada and have been in public school all my life but am now considering homeschooling. I just dont feel public school is so GREAT as everyone sais infact i think that far from the truth. I feel school isnt a place to learn its a place to go and hang out with friends even in the classroom when the teachers read from a textbook and make u write notes all the time and give worksheets its so boring that no one pays attention and talks to there friends. and drugs are infinaty EVERYONE does some kinda drug even the preppy kids (sorry for sterotyping just giveing a better picture) not jus the party kids. I just sit an laugh at how out of control everyone is. If someone is stuck the whole class has to wait and if no one pays attention that means the class is always behind and the teacher jus repeats herself so i fell im not learning anything. i just want to know if anyone was in a similair sit. as me and has had success with homeshooling or likes it better .

I remember chuckling over some of the "old school" misogynistic scientists, who proclaimed that evolution might not have been as necessary in developing the brain of females, since it "obviously" didn't take any intelligence to survive and raise children - only to hunt and "use tools", which was supposedly the exclusive domain of men. Naturally, the idea that our female ancestors were a bunch of airheads, who survived only because they were incredibly cute, is roundly rejected these days.

But lately I seem to be hearing a similar idea - that men evolved to be brilliant, strong, and all-powerful....by themselves. I guess the folks saying this don't realize that you actually have to find a female ancestor willing to breed with those "all-powerful" men in order to be successful? Do they think that "survival of the fittest" means bachelors who were really good at hunting, but couldn't get a girlfriend? "Fittest" means, "best able to create offspring who will later breed".

I thought I had everything figured out, but after talking to a friend whose husband is active duty, I'm confused again. DH is national guard RESERVES. He's deploying next month. We did all our paperwork for BAH, COLA etc, thats good to go. Does the rate go by where we live or where he'll be doing his pre-deployment training? The unit he's going with is from PA. We live in northern VA, and he'll be doing his pre-deployment training at Ft. Bragg for about 90 days (we think). The ANG knows we live in NoVA and it's on all our records. Do we get the rate for NoVA when he reports for deployment or do we get the rates for Bragg while he trains there and THEN the rates for NoVA once he leaves the country? I've been told it works differently for reserve s active. Which rate do we get? DH was told BAH goes directly to me. My friend said it's paid to our apartment complex and then I get leftovers. Is there more paperwork for that? Where do I find all the benefits in the LES statement?

I lived in an apartment in Michigan, and relocated to Ilinois. I gave the proper notice, and did everything I was suppose to before leaving. After living in Ilinois for a couple of months, I received a letter from my landlord stating that they have set a court date regarding my eviction. I did not receive this notice of a court date, and they claim I did not show up. They also told me that in order for them not to report it to the credit bureau which would ruin my credit I would have to pay them $4,000. I would like to buy a house in a year, and this would make it almost impossible if an eviction shows up on my credit history. I did nothing wrong, but they think they can get away with this, and I'll pay up. I'm a single parent just getting by, and I can NOT afford a lawyer and all the costs related to this. What can I do to get free from this situation? I'm worried sick...Please Help, thank you...

Do we as citizens have an avenue to pursue such as a petition drive? She does NOT have our security as a priority. She appears bent on weakening our country in any way possible.

We cannot count on our Representatives or Senators to work for us anymore. I am not even sure how they know what we want anymore. They are to busy talking to each other. You send them an email or letter and they have a staff person answer it with a pre-written reply so the Rep or Senator is very likely sheilded from our thoughts and requests anyway. They are a very expensive yet worthless club that eats lunch together. The lunchroom being the only place where non partisanship is honored with equal enthusiasm.

Do we have any recourse to pursue this?

Jaimey and Mike went out to the fields to pick apples in an apple grove. They picked up 638 apples in 4 days all together out of the 11,700 there. What is the percentage that Jaimey and Mike have taken up for picking the apples? How long will it take them until they pick them all?

I DON'T GET IT. Jaimey and Mike CAN'T pick up that many in even a week! What is wrong with them?! lol! My friend and I are completely clueless, so if you can help... please do!

Thank you!,

Just a good, easy to read, but well written infomative books on the history of how we got here from a scienfic stand point.
