I am from a very close family....hubby is not. My husband and I alternate family functions each year. I get Thanksgiving this year and he gets Christmas. This year my family is getting all the extended family together for Thanksgiving (aunts, uncles, cousins/kids, grandparents, great grandparents). This is approx 25 people (4 generations) in 4 different houses and some of us have to travel. I warned my husband prior to marriage that I am very close to my family and that I am used to spending a lot of time with them and he assured me he understood. Now that we're married, he never has time to deal with the travel/stress of family functions and I rarely get to see my extended family. For some it's been 3+ years. He is already complaining about how miserable TG is going to be and saying it's MY JOB to make it comfortable for him. I offered to stay in a hotel, but he's too cheap. He seems to think I can somehow "control" 20 other people and have everything to his way. What can I do?

The best selling dessert at Chez Russell earns revenue of $5000 per week. During Restaurant Week, they are required to give a 10% discount on this dessert. Because the owner is a crook, he decides to mark up the price the week before Restaurant Week and then give the 10% discount off the marked up price. During the marked up week, they still sold the same amount of pieces as any prior week. However, they expect to sell 100 more pieces during restaurant week. If the revenue from this dessert is the same for the marked up week and restaurant week, what is the normal price of the dessert, rounded to the nearest cent?

I love photography, but sometimes I get frustrated with my camera, because they beauty of nature I see with my own eyes is just not what the camera sees.

Is there a camera out there that can show me through the lens the same vibrance, colors, and realness that I actually see?

He's my delemia...My Sister-in-law & her son were "adopted" for Christmas. Well when she was contacted & asked what her family needed..she told them that her brother (my hubby) was in need of a new microwave, because his was ancient. (it works just fine by the way, even if it is old) Anywho, they said that they would get that for him as well. She will not tell me the name of the organization because she knows I will inform them not to get us the microwave. We are definatly NOT in need. Me & hubby both work good jobs & have no kids...so we are in no way needy. Now my SIL on the other hand doesn't work and lives off childsupport for her son. He does deserve something for Christmas. Also, I know several other people who are in need of some extra assistance this year. The funds should definatly be going towards them, not us. Would they be upset if they brought it to us & I asked for them to take it back? I don't want to be rude, but I want to do the right thing. Advice please.

A member named ruscito_mom answered a question yesterday that went like this (exact quote):

"I do not believe you will find a truly happy relationship without God in your life. People may try to convince themselves they are happy and relationship is great. If they really ask there self's the right question they will find out what is missing (God)

Why do you think Christians hold onto this view? It almost seems as if they are angry that their are people whom they can't convert, so they lash out with comments like this.

I, and my wife, are in our late 30's, both atheist, both college educated, both with IQ's over 145 (if that matters) and we are totally and completely happy with life, each other, our relationship, our marriage, our future together and everything in between. In fact, I would say we are more happy than a vast majority of religious people we've met over the years.

Why do most (not all) Christians feel what the poster said above? Jealousy? Anger? Hate?

I don't usually remember my dreams.. I don't really remember the last dream I remembered.. But, the other night I had a dream my boyfriend died. I was at school and my friend Ashley was comforting me and all I kept saying was "I can't believe he died.. I still have his Christmas presents. I want to have Christmas with him." Does anyone know what this means?

I can see how agnostics are open minded, but aren't atheists just as closed minded as Christian Fundamentalists?

If someone is truly open minded, wouldn't they admit that there is a remote possibility that there could be a God? And if there is a remote possibility that there could be a God, then shouldn't they also be open minded to the fact that some believe in this more strongly then others?

I'm starting to think that ahteists only think someone is open minded if they deny that God(s) exist. Is this true?

If this is true...doesn't this go against the definition of being open minded? Which would then bring us back around to what I actually think, that atheists can not be open minded.

Hmmmm....
