i dont get it!!! wierd mideval (if thats how you spell it lol) beliefs still dominate the world and kill millions upon millions. The genocide of reason and logic wont seem to go away. why do people believe ideas that people said thousands of years ago when the earth was flat and three headed dogs could come eat your children at night??

People are allowed to have different beliefs from you. If they choose to believe in a God or Gods, let them be.

Well, if you take a look at a number of things you might find your answer...
There are many who believe in Astrological Ages, and that we are entering (or about to enter) into the Age of Aquarius. If you look into this you might find some insight.
Whether we like to admit it, or not, we are still animals. Though we are sentient, it has taken millennia for the human race to get to where we are (which is by far less violent, esp. considering the sheer numbers we have now compared to history). So, yes, I would say this is part of the normal evolution process. '
You don't say exactly what ideas that people said thousands of years ago, but I am really quite certain that there are very few people anywhere in the world who don't know that the Earth is round and three headed dogs do not exist.
I am also not sure where you got your estimates of "millions and millions". In all actuality, history clearly shows that life for the human race up until not that long ago was dominated by warring peoples, taking over lands and killing very indiscriminately. I think maybe you should spend some time learning some history, going back to the Ancients.

Well, thousands of years ago, when the earth was flat and 3 headed dogs, etc, etc, people had to eat, I think.
Do you mean that people should not eat anymore just because it is an old practice ?

What's wrong with religion?
It gives people peace and serenity within themselves.
I have to admit that there has been cases where religion was the reason for wars, genocides, and other bad occurances, but it's what gives people hope, whatever they choose to believe in.
It's all about belief. As long as people believe in their choice or believe in whatever they choose to believe in, religion is there.

Because men are still experiencing TRUTH or at least a glimpse of it. When they do then they tell people and walla another religion. God is real not religious. Men are made in His image and that is truth. It is a personnel relationship with God the Father as put back in order by Jesus when He walked here in full Godhead.

I've never heard of a belief killing anyone. (You stated that beliefs have killed millions upon millions.)
This country was founded upon freedom of religion and freedom FROM religion, if that is your desire.
You DO believe in a democracy, don't you? Surely you are not in favor of dicatating to others and forcing YOUR beliefs upon them, are you?

Good point. If it's false, like the earth is flat idea, then why IS it still around? It's survived through the millenium, through persecution and attack. Why is that, I wonder, if it's false?
