Music helps me to relax and there for I'm better able to focus on what I'm doing. So when I'm writing or doing any thing that requires a lot of concentration I have music in the back ground. I also allow my daughter to listen to music while she does her homework because it also helps her to concentrate.

Yes, in both a positive and negative way. Where I work people have Ipods and listen to them all day as a way to block out the surrounding office noise and it motivates me to think faster. For some the music could be an unwelcome distraction or cause you to daydream about the song and lose focus on the work.

definitely.... think about when you are trying to concentrate, and there is a really annoying song(s) playing, and you cant concentrate.... or you are really digging the music and it helps you to be more proactive. problem being, everyone dosent have the same thaste in music so it is bound to annoy one person or another.
