I would guess that it depends on what kind of record you have. Like if you drink and drive, probabely not. Wait, do you have a criminal record and want a liquar liscence?!?! OMG!

It all depends on the individual liquor laws of your state. All states have variations in their license but there are also a lot of similarities.

In my state you cannot get a liquor license if you have a drug related arrest and conviction, prior liquor law violations (whether you were an owner of an establishment or as an individual), etc... However, there are also time related variances to these laws. If your conviction was X amount of years ago you may be able to get one. As I said before, it all denpends on your individual states liquor laws. Your best bet would be to get a copy of those laws and read through them yourself. Most states have a website for thier liquor comission and you can usually download those laws.

As someone incorrectly stated earlier, a liquor license usually has nothing to do with a business license. In most cases anyone can obtain a business license without any background check.
